For Christians that would be the Holy Spirit, ask and it will tell you whether its true or not.   Scientists have identified the Pineal gland as the "seat of the soul", so there must be something important here.  It does not hurt to treat it as if it were true and to believe its true, then do what it takes to activate and protect it.
