Where exactly is this? I find it odd that the person who filmed and posted this did not identify the streets that had been blocked off like this. If this really happened on what had been public through-streets, I would expect it to be major news reported everywhere. The media are not so "controlled" that something like this could be hidden. Maybe this is an established "gated community" that has actually been around for a while? Or maybe the fancy suburban street was a movie set, and the fence marked the boundary of the studio lot? I'm guessing, but without further details I'm very skeptical that this is really what it was presented as.
Yes, those are legit concerns you are expressing. I bought off on them because the first fenced area with barbed wire on it was not a subdivision, rather a used car dealership. Also, The throwing of trash over the fence from the car dealership was obvious since it was office furniture and not normal trash. That bothered me because that makes it appear as if those inside felt totally separated from those outside and did not use the trash system. I questioned whether there was even a trash system in place anymore.
All of it could be a ploy, and if so, these guys are excellent actors, but if not, then they have a legit concern.
