As part of Bilderberg’s agenda to “Europeanize” America and turn it into a socialist welfare state wherein its citizens are completely dependent on the government, the elite are celebrating Foreign Governor President Obama’s support for a UN small arms treaty, which many fear could be used to impinge on the right to keep and bear arms.
According to Bilderberg sleuth Jim Tucker, elitists were celebrating one of their scant victories at the annual meeting this year, namely the fact that Foreign Israeli Governor President Obama has promised to support a United Nations small arms treaty that could represent an end run around the second amendment.
By encapsulating the gun grab within a treaty, the Obama administration could claim that no Senate approval is needed to authorize any such move against the right to bear arms – although whether a treaty trumps the Constitution is a very murky area of debate.
Congressman Paul Broun warns that, “With willing one-world accomplices in Washington, D.C., gun-grabbers around the globe believe they have it made.” Broun characterizes the U.N.’s Small Arms Treaty as “nothing more than a massive, GLOBAL gun control scheme.”
The treaty would force national governments to acquiesce to a global gun registry, while strengthening licensing procedures so as to make it almost impossible for a citizen to legally purchase a gun. It would also ban the private sale of semi-automatic weapons and ultimately lead to the confiscation and destruction of all “unauthorized” firearms owned by citizens.
American Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton echoes Broun’s warning, explaining that the treaty appears to be aimed at the international arms trade yet in reality, “the real agenda is domestic firearms control”.
“I think it was clear from the outset that the Obama administration would move in this direction. The only thing that’s surprising is that it’s taken this long,” said Bolton.
If the elite are to implement their stuttering “post-industrial revolution” with crippling austerity measures, consumption taxes, and mass unemployment with any success, then 100 million armed Americans are going to provide somewhat of a stumbling block. Bilderberg’s desire to see the middle class eviscerated and replaced with a servile, destitute and dependent population mandates that private gun ownership in the U.S. be outlawed just as it is in most European countries.
Cynics have claimed that the treaty will only apply to terrorists or those who force children to enlist as soldiers. (VN: Yes, and we trust the intent of our leadership in Bilderberg, don't we? Hahaha) However, since the federal government has repeatedly made clear that it considers gun owners, libertarians, tea party activists and basically anyone who is politically active as a likely domestic terrorist under the MIAC report and others, Americans would be remiss not to be concerned about the activities of an organization that symbolizes its agenda in the form of a huge anti-gun statue which it proudly displays in the middle of New York City.
Indeed, if the UN’s anti-gun statue was supposed to represent a symbol of peace as the organization claims, why does it depict not a weapon of war but a mere handgun? This is clearly the UN giving the middle finger to the Constitution and the second amendment, and any attempt by the globalists to act on this attitude should be a massive cause for alarm.

What is eugenics?
The word eugenics comes from the Greek words eus (good or well) and genēs (born) meaning "well born". The American Heritage dictionary of the English language describes eugenics as, "The study of hereditary improvement of the human race by controlled selective breeding." Sir Francis Galton was the man who coined the term, and developed the first eugenic policies. Galton expressed distress at the lack of emphasis on the betterment of the human race during his time, comparing men and women of his day to "pariah dogs". In 1864, Galton wrote in an article titled "Hereditary Character and Talent," published in two parts in MacMillan's Magazine,
"If a twentieth part of the cost and pains were spent in measures for the improvement of the human race that is spent on the improvement of the breed of horses and cattle, what a galaxy of genius might we not create! We might introduce prophets and high priests of civilization into the world, as surely as we can propagate idiots by mating cretins. Men and women of the present day are, to those we might hope to bring into existence, what the pariah dogs of the streets of an Eastern town are to our own highly-bred varieties."
The history of eugenics in America is filled with controversy and harrowing stories of forced sterilization throughout many U.S. states. In 2002 Mark R. Warner, the governor of Virginia issued an apology for the thousands of individuals that the state had sterilized from 1924 to 1979. USA Today reported on the governors statement,
"With the governor's statement Thursday, Virginia becomes the only of the 30 states that conducted eugenics sterilizations to apologize. There are believed to be more than 60,000 eugenics victims nationwide.
'Today, I offer the commonwealth's sincere apology for Virginia's participation in eugenics,' Warner said.
'As I have previously noted, the eugenics movement was a shameful effort in which state government never should have been involved," he said. 'We must remember the commonwealth's past mistakes in order to prevent them from recurring.'"
The aristocratic, wealthy elite of America played a central role in the development of eugenics in America and abroad. Two such elite families are the Rockefellers and the Carnegies.
In 1902, Andrew Carnegie founded the Carnegie Institute which among other things, funded the Eugenics Record Office in America. The ERO (1910-1944) operated from Cold Spring Harbor in New York. Eugenics policies, which led to the sterilization of thousands of Americans, were developed in this office.
The Rockefellers, perhaps more so, were also heavily involved with eugenics. Rockefeller influence in American eugenics can be traced to the beginnings of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories. John D. Rockefeller, along with Averell Harriman gave $11 million to create the facility in the early 1900's. Rockefeller influence also spread overseas to Germany, where the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Psychiatry, and the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Eugenics, Anthropology and Human Heredity resided. Much of the money used to run these facilities came from Rockefeller. These weren't just average scientific institutes; the Kaiser Wilhelm Institutes would become the center for Nazi eugenics programs.
As documented by Gary Allen in "The Rockefeller File" the Rockefellers continue to give money to eugenics and population control related organizations,
"In 1970, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund gave $500,000 to the Population Council. The Rockefeller Foundation gave ecology grants of $10,000 to the New School for Social Research, and $10,000 to the Population Reference Bureau."
In 1973, the Rockefeller Foundation again gave $500,000 to the Population Council and $25,000 to the Population Crisis Committee, while the Rockefeller Brothers Fund gave $250,000 to the Population Council, and $250,000 to the Population Institute.
The Population Council was founded by John D. Rockefeller the 3rd in 1952. The first president of the Council, Frederick Osborn, was appointed by Rockefeller. Osborn was the leader of the American Eugenics Society, and member of the Galton Society, founded in 1918.
Osborn stated in the 1956 edition of "The Eugenics Review" that,
"...the reasons advanced must be generally acceptable reasons. Let's stop telling anyone that they have a genetically inferior genetic quality, for they will never agree. Let's base our proposals on the desirability of having children born in homes where they will get affectionate and responsible care, and perhaps our proposals will be accepted. It seems to me that if it is to progress as it should, eugenics must follow new policies and state its case anew, and that from this rebirth we may, even in our own lifetime, see it moving at last towards the high goals which Galton set for it."
Killing to save the earth
Since the early days of eugenics, a new "brand" of this science has emerged in modern times. The environmental branch of eugenics believes that, due to overpopulation, measures must be taken to either impede population growth through various eugenic policies, or take drastic measures to eliminate living human beings from the earth. Unlike those who advocate eugenics to strictly rid humanity of "undesirables," some advocate the culling of humanity in general in order to save planet earth. Many globalist initiatives surround environmental issues,one of which has been population control and reduction.

In 2004 the publication World Watch published an article titled, "Global Population Reduction: Confronting the Inevitable, http://www.oldthinkernews.com/documents/global%20population%20reduction%20-%20confronting%20the%20inevitable.pdf " by Ken Smail, a professor in the Anthropology department of Kenyon College in Ohio. In this article, Smail proposes that the earth's carrying capacity will reach, or has reached already, its limit. In what Smail calls a modern day "Malthusian dilemma", he cites measures to merely slow population growth as being inefficient, stating that,

Smail says that a large scale global population reduction is inevitable, but that there are two possible ways for this to happen,

Instead of relying on breeding "better humans," without the intervention of technology, many scientists believe that technological means should be employed to further our "evolution." With the rise of advanced scientific technologies, the ability to alter the genetic code of living organisms, and the augmentation of human bodies has become a reality. Some individuals who are involved with the modern eugenics movement see the rise of these capabilities as an opportunity to create or alter human beings to acquire the most "desirable traits" and rid humanity of traits deemed "undesirable".
Is there a link between eugenics and the Human Genome Project? If so, what does this mean for future generations?
During the 34 years (1910-1944) the Eugenics Records Office was active, it collected information on specific human traits in what was called The Trait Book. Also collected was information on "Pedigree" families and their specific traits. Today, the Human Genome project is in effect carrying on what the Eugenics Records Office could only dream of.
James Watson, who began the initial research for the Human Genome Project, directed the operation from 1988-1992. Watson then served as director at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and would eventually become president of the Laboratory in 1994. Watson's beliefs about the betterment of mankind mirror those of past eugenics leaders.
Watson is quoted as saying at a 1998 UCLA conference that,
"I mean, sure, we have great respect for the human species .... But evolution can be just damn cruel, and to say that we've got a perfect genome and there's some sanctity to it, I'd just like to know where that idea comes from. It's utter silliness. And the other thing, because no one really has the guts to say it, I mean, if we could make better human beings by knowing how to add genes, why shouldn't we do it?"
Celera Genomics
Craig Venter caused many to question his ethics when he moved to found Celera Genomics in 1998, carrying the study of the human genome into the private sector, using the "shotgun strategy" to sequence the human genome at a faster clip than the public project.
In a press release dated March 1, 2001, Celera Genomics announced that it signed a "multi-year agreement" with AMDeC LLC to "allow member institutions to access Celera's database information [Human Genome data] through its Celera Discovery System." Some of those member institutions included Rockefeller University, and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Interestingly, Rockefeller University was founded by John D. Rockefeller in 1901 with a dedication to biomedical research. Today, David Rockefeller, grandson to John D. Rockefeller Jr., is the Chairman of the Rockefeller University Council.
Venter further maddened fellow scientists when he moved to patent human genes. Serious ethical discussions took place after the first attempts to patent human genes, but ultimately the decision stood to allow patenting. (VN: a patent, means they own you)The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued guidelines on patenting. The American Medical Association describes the guidelines,
"The rules are intended to help end a bitter debate on gene patenting. These regulations have put to rest any question about whether genes can be patented at all -- making it clear that companies may indeed patent both whole genes as well as pieces of genes..."
The guidelines allow patenting when the those applying for a patent on a gene show a "utility" for the gene. The AMA goes on to state that arguments were heard opposing the decision based on the fact that these genes were not created by anyone, and thus could not be patented. The AMA describes how the Patent office rejected these ideas,
"The PTO firmly rejected this notion based upon the fact that a gene may be removed from a person, then a clone of that gene may be made in a machine, which is then not a part of nature, but a product of the lab."
A search in the online patent database for "human genes" yields an astonishing 159021 results as of August 2007.
Designer babies
The apex of a futuristic eugenics program comes with the advent of designer babies, embryos that are genetically enhanced through various methods. The knowledge gathered through the study of the human genome will, according to some, lead to the ability to create such designer babies.
In 2000, the BBC aired a documentary called "Who's Afraid of Designer Babies?" Featured in this clip is Lee M. Silver, professor at Princeton University and former investigator for Cold Spring Harbor (1980-1984).
The future is now: Genetically altered babies already born
There is still doubt among scholars and scientists that the Human Genome Project will lead to a new eugenics program, such as designer babies. They cite limitations on current technology and the need for further research as reasons for this position. However, unknown to many, genetically altered babies have already been born. The implications of this development are immense, but it has received little attention. Because these babies were "created" in the private sector and the lab did not receive government funding, there were no governmental restrictions on what could be done. As Wired magazine reported in 2001,
"Researchers have genetically-altered humans for the first time, but experts question the moral implications of tinkering with the unborn."
The scientists weren't looking to create genetically-enhanced Michael Jordans or Anna Kournikovas. Rather, they repaired the defective eggs of prospective mothers by injecting them with DNA from the eggs of healthy donors.
But regardless of the scientists' intentions, they've created the first human offspring with changes to their "germline," or the genes they'll pass on to future generations. In this case, the babies' genes contain DNA from two women instead of just one.
Researchers at the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science of Saint Barnabasin West Orange, New Jersey, have achieved 15 births using the technique. In their paper, published in the March 2001 issue of the Human Reproduction journal, they say at least 15 additional healthy babies have been born as a result of this technique in other labs.
The researchers performed the fertilizations in 1997 and 1998. In March, they published data on the results of DNA fingerprint tests on two of the children, each one year old, confirming that they contain a small quantity of additional genes not inherited from either parent.
Most scientists consider altering the germline unethical, since no one knows what the long-term effects might be. The researchers, however, are confident the technique is safe."
What will the future look like?
What will the future hold in a world in which eugenics, utilizing advanced technology, has become a reality?
Lee Silver describes in his book "Cloning and Beyond in a Brave New World", a future scenario in which humanity splits into two distinct classes, the "GenRich" and the "GenPoor."
"The GenRich--who account for 10 percent of the American population--all carry synthetic genes. Genes that were created in the laboratory....The GenRich are a modern-day hereditary class of genetic aristocrats....All aspects of the economy, the media, the entertainment industry, and the knowledge industry are controlled by members of the GenRich class."
Those who are not as fortunate to have access to genetic modification, called "Naturals" by Silver, will "...work as low-paid service providers or as laborers."
Bertrand Russel says in "The Impact of Science on Society" (1953) on pages 49-50 that,
"Gradually, by selective breeding, the congenital differences between rulers and ruled will increase until they become almost different species. A revolt of the plebs would become as unthinkable as an organized insurrection of sheep against the practice of eating mutton." Hollywood has apparently been keeping up to date on genetic technologies, adding their own theatrical twist. The movie "Gattaca", released in 1997, portrays a despotic future world in which designer babies are born every day, and the perfection of genes has become the center of society. (VN: Remember, the sicko's running this world always tell us their agenda and intentions through movies and books and its why they control the publishing and movie industries as well as the press)
Thomas H. Campbell of the University of California believes that humanity is destined to gain access to methods of "autoevolution." Writing in his paper, "The Moral Imperative of Our Future Evolution", http://home.comcast.net/~neoeugenics/camp.htm Campbell describes future technologies and their eugenic implications. Campbell praises eugenics policies, and cites the Human Genome Project as a positive development in the identification of "defective" genes.
"We have catalogued defective genes behind a variety of dreadful neurological and metabolic disorders as parts of programs to eliminate them eugenically. Our systematic mapping of the human genome will identify many others. Everyone applauds the goal of purging these defects in our heredity - notwithstanding quibbles over the ethics of the techniques of amniocentesis, abortion and even contraception. I emphatically embrace this eugenic program even though its evolutionary impact is insignificant. Most defective genes are rare, and their total elimination does little for evolution except squeeze the range of variation of humans."
"We probably will begin our interventions into brain and embryonic development with drugs and hormones and subsequently engineer the desirable intrusions into the genome. Then, after a further generation of accumulating biological information about individual gene function, developmental pathways, and the neural substrate of brain function, evolutionists probably will write novel genes for these traits from scratch using a DNA synthesizer."
"Of course, the methods for evolving our genetics extend beyond biotechnology. Ultra-sophisticated parallel processing computers and software programs will predictively model how particular gene configurations translate into phenotype, and how particular phenotypic traits can be engineered into developmental pathways. As a start, new computer technology is being developed today as an integral part of the human genome project."
Campbell, like others, says that future genetic technologies will be extremely expensive, leaving the average person out of the loop. Campbell expresses his approval of this expense due to the fact that only the "most successful generative lines" will have access to these technologies.
"The costs will be enormous, far beyond what most people could afford. This has kept our democratic society from appreciating that these possibilities will be used and will be important. However, their feasibility cannot be judged from what the average person will be willing to pay to procreate. What matters are the resources that the most successful generative lines will be able to apply to their goals. A million dollars per conception seems a great underestimate to me for the beings who hold evolution's frontier."
The legacy of Galton, John D., and Carnegie lives on. Though terms have changed, the names of organizations altered, the methods of propagandizing the public reformed; the ideology behind eugenics is being carried into the twenty-first century, and a new eugenics is creeping into our society. Will humanity as we know it today become a fossil as some have proposed? Public awareness is the key. WASHINGTON — The United States has discovered nearly $1 trillion in untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan, far beyond any previously known reserves and enough to fundamentally alter the Afghan economy and perhaps the Afghan war itself, according to senior American government officials.

Vatican Official Tied To BP, Goldman Sachs And Media Censorship In The Oil Fiasco...
News unfolding from the oil crisis in the Gulf of Mexico has linked media censorship to investment bankers at Goldman Sachs (GS) stewarding the Vatican's wealth, and increasing evidence that the explosion was intended.
A near total news blackout from independent sources, and arrests of anyone caught photographing and filming the devastation, show the Halliburton-British Petrolium (BP) oil crisis is being criminally controlled, implicating some of Wall Street's heaviest hitters.
According to a report issued by frightened, yet faithful, documentary filmmaker, James Fox, interviewed from the Gulf's Grand Isles by Mel Fabregas on the Internet's Veritas Radio Show, "There is a complete media blackout" on news coverage broadcast from the region.
"They are arresting people with cameras and anyone off camera that is caught talking to a reporter," Fox testified.
Another reporter told Fox,"You call this a free country? Right here, in the United States of America, there's no freedom of press. There's no freedom of speech. They're closing down the airspace above the oil spill, so reporter's can't fly over to determine how bad these oil plumes really are."
Suspicious pieces of this deadly puzzle feature Halliburton, the world's second largest oil field services company, headquartered in Houston and Dubai, whose negligence is blamed for the timely and profitable explosion.
Three weeks before the "natural gas leak," the George Bush/Dick Cheney 9-11-linked Halliburton company negotiated the purchase of the world's largest oil-spill cleanup firm (Boots & Coots) at the exact time keen observers on Wall Street--financial intelligence agents at Goldman Sachs (GS; often called "Government Sachs")--unloaded 44% of their stock in BP.
These facts parallel the shorting of airline stocks by those in the know prior to the World Trade Center (WTC) 9-11 attacks that new scientific evidence proves were followed by building demolitions, given the red thermite incendiary powder found everywhere around ground zero.
The WTC lessor, Larry Silverstein, partnered with Lloyd Blankfein of GS in the little known Partnership for New York City (PFNYC), took out a General Electric insurance policy just six weeks before the attacks. PFNYC "partners," in charge of assessing financial damages to NYC, and reconstruction plans for the WTC, obviously "veered" insurance payoffs and additional private equity investments to Las Vegas for the construction of the 9-11 memorial--speciously called the "Veer Towers" in the "New World Center." Blankfein, the PFNYC Co-Chairman and GS CEO, was barraged with indictments and rising media infamy regarding Goverment Sachs's conflicting interests effectively demolishing the US economy through the "shorting" of the housing industry--scrutiny suspended by Halliburton's oil rig synchronously exploding most profitably for GS and its CEO.
GS is covertly invested in the Bush-Cheney-linked Halliburton Company according to veteran observers. GS and Halliburton both had massive financial incentives to cause the profitable explosions--the three 9-11 WTC building demolitions, and the most recent "accident" in the Gulf.
The media's gross neglect of the full extent of the crisis obviously supports GS's damage control and incriminating connections. These include Blankfein's PFNYC Co-Chairman, Rupert Murdoch, and their pernicious influence over the major networks and the PFNYC--the world's leading petrochemical-pharmaceutical-biotechnology consortium profiting from death, disease, and environmental destruction. This unholy alliance best explains the media's aversion to responsible reporting in the Gulf and elsewhere.
Besides Blankfein and Government Sachs backing stock in both BP and Halliburton, another red oil-drenched herring is Peter D. Sutherland--the outgoing Chairman of BP is also the current Non-Executive Chairman of Goldman Sachs International.
The scariest part of this whole story is that Mr. Sutherland, the man standing with one foot in GS, and the other on the burning Halliburton-BP oil rig, is the Consultor of the Extraordinary Section of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See. In other words, Sutherland is the chief financial adviser to the Pope.
In 2010, Mr. Sutherland finished a 13-year stint as Chairman of BP, Europe's largest oil company. A former Attorney General of Ireland, he is President of the Federal Trust for Education and Research, a British think tank whose efforts might better be called corporatist indoctrination than trustworthy "education." He is Chairman of The Ireland Fund of Great Britain, and a member of the advisory council of Business for New Europe--a pro-New-World-Order European think-tank based in Britain.
From 1993-95, Sutherland was the Director-General of the World Trade Organization.
In January 2006, the current Non-executive Chairman of Goldman Sachs International, was appointed by United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan, as his Special Representative for Migration.
Now, ironically, Sutherland's mission impossible is to migrate marine flora and fauna, fisherman, and coastal residents out of harms way in this spreading international emergency.

Ask first when it begins with a "grabber headline" that misleads about what the articles purpose is. That is usually the first signal, that there is an objective to it all. Then as you get into it ask, "Is this article dealing with a serious main informative issue that leads to either understanding or solutions to the CORE SERIOUS PROBLEM". If its just slamming one side or the other for their 'PERCEIVED' unreasonable behavior, then pass on it, since its definitely a propoganda piece. I have included my VN:'s through out the piece to point out obvious misleading statements or inaccurate statements all GEARED TO MAKE THE POINT OF THE ARTICLE, which is division between the right and the left. I hope I was able to achieve my objective here. SHE GAVE A LIST OF LINKS, SO LET ME DO THE SAME, MINE ARE MORE OFFICIAL.....this isn't even 1/10th of what I have showing this new police state we are inheriting, so I guess the conspiracy theory of the conspiracy theory isn't working either. hehehe

Is there a covert government plan to forcibly evacuate up to 50 million people from the Gulf Coast and move them into FEMA trailers somewhere in Missouri and elsewhere because of the oil spill? Some of the nation's survivalists are convinced that the Obama administration is plotting just such an operation. Last week, Greg Evensen, a former Kansas state trooper and a regular on the "Patriot" movement talk circuit, appeared on the Internet radio show "Shattering the Darkness [1]" to warn listeners that government is moving to evacuate basically everyone from the coast of Texas to Cape Cod. Evensen says the move will come after these areas become uninhabitable due to an "oversaturation of benzene" from the chemical dispersants BP is using to try to clean up the oil leaking into the Gulf of Mexico.
Yes, even an eco-tragedy can breed conspiracy theories. (VN: Yes, even a left publication can be part of the disinformation and propoganda brigade, can't it? Not a word about how even on FEMA's own site, they announced that they were preparing for just such an event. So this author is simply looking to continue the neocon need for a divide between the right and left that the neocons need so very desparately to get our millions of guns from us before they start their third world war. SPLC and the ADL did a poor job of trying to work the left up to be afraid of the right and it didn't take off. I guess all that dumbing down for years and brain washing has not done the job. They should fire that psychologist who said it would. LOL, well maybe after reading this article from a normally excellent publication, I should qualify that.... maybe it works for a minority on both sides, the right and the left, but thankfully not a majority. )
Interviewed by a man known only as "the Hawk," Evensen predicted on May 27 that the evacuations would begin sometime around June 15, after the government brings together "people who can be engaged in combat"—possibly including foreign troops—and stations them at 500-mile intervals. He predicted that people as far north as Cape Cod might have to be evacuated, given that the oil is likely to end up "on beaches of England." These events, Evensen warned, would show the "rolling thunder effect of how it will bring America to its knees," to which the Hawk responded, "This could be larger than anything we could ever imagine."
In an interview with Mother Jones, Evensen explained that he had heard about this massive governmental operation from a "buffet meal of state and local law enforcement" sources, many of whom find him—rather than the other way around—thanks to his media appearances and Internet postings. (Evensen lives in Michigan.)
The podcast of this show soon made its way into the Tea Party world and was circulating on various listservs this week, with headlines like "Forced evacuations of 40 million begin in less than two weeks. Anyone within a thousand miles of the Gulf of Mexico needs to listen to every word of this." John Kaminiski [2], a "truther" who believes Jews blew up the World Trade Center, warned in an email [3] that "If you don't leave now, you will never make it. You will either die on the road, or in a FEMA camp. The troops are already in place."(VN: in fact we had pictures but because it hit the net, nothing happened, I KEEP REMEMBERING THE 5 MISSING NUKES, DON'T YOU??? CHERTOFFS WARNING JUST PRIOR TO THEM GOING MISSING TELLING US HOW 5 AMERICAN CITIES WERE GOING TO ATTACKED BASED ON INTEL BY THE TERRORISTS and if it had not been for the net when the leak about WHO LOADED THOSE MISSLES AND ON WHAT MILITARY CARGO PLANE THEY WERE LOADED, WE MAY WELL HAVE HAD THAT ATTACK, and now every single person on that base who were involved in those nukes being loaded are all dead within a year of that happening. Gee, I wonder what happened? We were wrong or did we stop thefalse flagthat was planned by the neocons that Kaminski mentions)
One wonders how many Tea Partiers listened all the way through to the end of the Hawk's show. Those who did might have questioned Evensen's claims after he started discussing "previously unseen ground units," possibly made up of "alien hybrids" masquerading as US troops, that were "emerging from areas in the Southwest and heading in an easterly direction." From the oil spill to FEMA camps to an alien invasion—it's the X Files gone green. (VN: Fortunately, I missed that one, but these days, I seriously wonder... who knows because these people certainly are not human by any means, so he could have something there.)
The giant spill has already inspired plenty of dubious speculation on the right. Early on, Rush Limbaugh suggested that "environmental whackos" had blown up the Deepwater Horizon oil rig to prevent more offshore drilling, a theme echoed by other conservative talkers [4].(VN: True, but the right has pegged these neocon hired shills and do not listen to them anymore, the grassroots right figured out who owns BP or traded in the stock etc, so that never flew, in this the grassroots right and left are united, much to the chagrine of the neocons in play here.)
Evensen has all but made a franchise out of predicting when and where government troops will round up the American people and pack them off to FEMA detention centers. Described by the New York Times as a militia leader, he makes the rounds of "Patriot" radio shows with such folks as Oath Keeper member [5] "Sheriff" Richard Mack, and he features commentary by Larry Pratt on his website. Pratt, whom Evensen calls an acquaintance, is also a longtime militia hero and founder of Gun Owners of America [6].
Last year, Evensen repeatedly suggested that the government was planning to set up roadblocks to force people to get the H1N1 vaccine or tag them with a steel bracelet with a microchip that would indicate that they’d been vaccinated. Anyone who refused, according to Evensen, would be hauled off to a camp [7]. (VN: That is the beauty of the Net, I watch them put up gates right here in my town at the side of the highway for that very reason, what happened is the pandemic never materialized and thus the road blocks could not be justified, but they certainly began using them in California which we published with pics and all)
When none of that happened, Evensen had to make a retraction. But that didn't seem to dampen the demand for his survivalist seminars or radio appearances [8]. And Evensen says that he doesn't claim to be 100 percent accurate. "We're watchmen, if you will," he says, explaining that he just puts information out there for people to assess for themselves. He doesn’t mention that doomsday predictions are good for business: He sells DVDs on "Castle Defense" and other "defensive planning" materials on his website (along with CDs of "Hymns from the Heartland," performed by Evenson himself)—all of which can be purchased with gold in lieu of currency. He says he also offers seminars and survivalist trainings across the country.
For the record, Larry Chambers, a Coast Guard petty officer at the DeepWater Horizon Incident unified area command in Robert, Louisiana, says that he’s never heard of any plans for the government to evacuate the entire Southeastern coast. "That's not going to happen," he says. (But isn't this what you’d expect him to say?)
Chambers explains that the government is making contingency plans to evacuate people in the event of a hurricane—which it has real concerns about because of how heavy winds might affect the clean-up effort, and because of the large numbers of extra personnel in the region working on disaster management. "I can understand why people may even start to think about conspiracies,” Chambers says. “It’s huge. We’ve never dealt with anything like this. People are upset."
As for FEMA, a spokesperson seemed rather perplexed by my questions about whether the agency plans to detain millions of Americans in trailers in Missouri after a mass evacuation. In an email, an agency press secretary named Rachel Racusen wrote, "FEMA continues to support the lead federal agencies for the response to the BP oil spill, the Department of Homeland Security, the Coast Guard and the Department of the Interior. To date that support has included help with staffing needs, as well as coordination and recovery expertise." Evensen might take that as a "yes."
