“Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared” is a web series of six enigmatic videos that has grown into a “cult phenomenon”. Behind the weirdness, however, is a deeper message: It is about mass media brainwashing and MKULTRA.

Over the last few years, I’ve received quite a few e-mails regarding Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared, a web series involving puppets and a whole lot of creepiness. VC readers astutely identified symbols and messages in the videos that pointed towards a deeper and more disturbing meaning. Now that the final video has been published and the story is complete, I can wholeheartedly agree with these readers: Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared is not merely about random creepiness. It conceals a message about the effects of mass media on the world, how it shapes and molds people’s opinions, and how it preys deliberately on young, impressionable minds. Even more disturbing, it also depicts the manipulation of agents working in the media using actual MKULTRA brainwashing techniques until they are completely broken down. Pretty heavy stuff for a show about puppets.

The videos were created by British artists Becky Sloan and Joseph Pelling in 2011. Each episode is made to appear like a typical children’s television program, consisting of singing and talking puppets similar to those of Sesame Street, but eventually the story takes a dark turn, usually involving gore. The first episode was reportedly created with little to no budget. After the video gained popularity, a second video was commissioned by Channel 4, a British television station (note that this station also sponsored Viktoria Modesta’s “Prototype”, a music video that is full of MK symbolism – read my article about it here). The series then took off, with each episode going deeper into the depths of Monarch Programming (if you don’t know what that is, please read this article first). More than simply satirizing children’s shows, Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared paints a bleak picture of mass media and society as a whole. Let’s look at the episodes.

My family tree is full of Masonic heritage. It started out on just my Dad's side of the family but has now grown to people on my Mom's side and even a few of our family friends are now a part of my Masonic family. As for me I am a member of Job's Daughters International (JDI). While Job's is not directly affiliated with Freemasonary we girls are all joined together by our Masonic heritage making us "sisters." You see when I say that I grew up in lodge, which is the place that Masons hold their meetings, I mean this quite literally. As most of the families in my father's lodge have known me ever since I was three days old. Dearborn lodge holds a family dinner every Monday night for Masons and their families to visit with each other and become closer. Being that I've been going to these dinners basically since the day I was born I came to know most of the members as my family; many of which I consider second grandparents. I remember walking around to most every table in my "clip clop" shoes as I used to call them (most people call them high heels) to visit and talk with all the adults are their children. To me they're all family, because if I learned anything from this organization it's that family isn't always by blood.

The lodges host so much more than just Monday night dinners for the families; of course, they have family picnics and even Christmas parties for us. Growing up lodge picnics were one of my favorite parts of summer. I loved getting to see some of the Masons' grandchildren that I didn't get to see every Monday night and all the fun games and activities the lodges had set up for us, with some creative help from their wives, of course. Now when it came to the Christmas parties I'm pretty sure I would get more excited about those than actual Christmas! I loved that all the families would come together and we could all get amazing food, have a great night forget any worries and even get a visit from Santa.

We don’t often question the typical world map that hangs on the walls of classrooms — a patchwork of yellow, pink and green that separates the world into more than 200 nations. But Parag Khanna, a global strategist, says that this map is, essentially, obsolete.

Khanna is the author of the new book “Connectography: Mapping the Future of Global Civilization,” in which he argues that the arc of global history is undeniably bending toward integration. Instead of the boundaries that separate sovereign nations, the lines that we should put on our maps are the high-speed railways, broadband cables and shipping routes that connect us, he says. And instead of focusing on nation-states, we should focus on the dozens of mega-cities that house most of the world’s people and economic growth.

I spoke with Khanna about several of the incredible maps from his book, which he uses to illustrate some proposals for our future world that might, at first glance, seem pretty far out — like dividing the United States into seven economic mega-regions or politically integrating North America. But with the world rapidly changing and urbanizing, these proposals might be the best way to confront a radically different future.

This article was first published in January 2014 at Veterans Today, a little over one year after the alleged Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting of December 14, 2012. Much research on Sandy Hook has been done since the time of its publication, but the original “top ten reasons” that discredit the official story are still as valid as ever. They form the basis for all further research and, as such, are offered here in a revised and updated version – which has just been published in Nobody Died at Sandy Hook, second edition.[2] Means of accessing the videos from the online article are given in the notes.

As the article was being written, The New York Times, our nation’s newspaper of record, published a story on Connecticut’s “final report” on the Newtown shooting (December 27, 2013).[3] In this article we are told that although the report contained “hundreds of photographs, hours of video, and voluminous crime scene reports… care was taken to conceal the most graphic crime scene images.” Not only that—the final report does not even include the  names, ages, or sex of the alleged shooting victims (Figure 2). There was no actual identification of any of the dead.[4] Even the News–Times of Danbury, CT, found it unsatisfying.[5]

A Reworked Narrative.

When an incident takes place it is completely understandable that there will be a degree of confusion and misreporting of the facts. Observers of these incidents are accustomed to there being early reports of multiple shooters that are later withdrawn.

However in the case of the Dallas attack, the Dallas Police Chief David Brown stated unequivocally that the attack was conducted by multiple snipers at multiple locations.  The Chief also stated that several other suspects were in custody but this story was inexplicably dumped after many hours and replaced with the familiar tale of the lone nut/lone wolf gunman and the entire sniper narrative was also excised.

The abrupt change to the narrative was explained as being a simple mistake due to echoing gunshots!

Judge Andrew Napolitano told FOX News that an FBI transcript indicated that no one died until 05:13am Sunday morning when the police SWAT teams entered the building.

“Here’s what is news in the summary – nobody died until 05:13 in the morning, when the SWAT team entered. Prior to that no one had been killed. The 53 that were injured, and the 49 that were murdered all met their fates at the time of, and during, the police entry into the building,” Judge Napolitano said.

There’s a fun game I like to play in a group of trusted friends called “Controversial Opinion.” The rules are simple: Don’t talk about what was shared during Controversial Opinion afterward and you aren’t allowed to “argue”?—?only to ask questions about why that person feels that way. Opinions can range from “I think James Bond movies are overrated” to “I think Donald Trump would make a excellent president.”

Usually, someone responds to an opinion with, “Oh my god! I had no idea you were one of those people!” Which is really another way of saying “I thought you were on my team!”

In psychology, the idea that everyone is like us is called the “false-consensus bias.” This bias often manifests itself when we see TV ratings (“Who the hell are all these people that watch NCIS?”) or in politics (“Everyone I know is for stricter gun control! Who are these backwards rubes that disagree?!”) or polls (“Who are these people voting for Ben Carson?”).

Online it means we can be blindsided by the opinions of our friends or, more broadly, America. Over time, this morphs into a subconscious belief that we and our friends are the sane ones and that there’s a crazy “Other Side” that must be laughed at?—?an Other Side that just doesn’t “get it,” and is clearly not as intelligent as “us.” But this holier-than-thou social media behavior is counterproductive, it’s self-aggrandizement at the cost of actual nuanced discourse and if we want to consider online discourse productive, we need to move past this.
