We did a blog a while back on the heart as the most powerful brain in our bodies and it was highly revealing and educational. I learned then that the heart has a magnetic field around it and you can actually see it with a machine. But the head brain does not, which highlights the fact that between the two, the head is a minor player in the game. That has been proven by these khazars.
While brilliant in the head game, they have no soul, no heart, no humanity and therefore never have succeeded with their plans of world domination, since their heart brain is in suspension and lacks any vibrational capability to put those brilliant strategies into play. That is why they get exposed every time in every false flag they use. They are ill equipped to complete the task as they had planned. I believe this will turn out the same way. The only difference is that NOW, the entire world knows about them and what they do to harm others.

Add to that the lack of any initiation on taking Arsenic out of our fruit juices is a compounding of that act of treason. Consumer Reports published this week a study revealing that toxic
levels of arsenic are found in popular brand fruit juices. An old saying
says “for each rat you see, there are 50 you missed” (or something of
the sorts). This also probably applies to processed foods. Each time a
poisonous substance is found in a food product, there are probably 50
that are not even known or mentioned. So, why not avoid that crap?
Fresh pressed juice is so much better anyway.
Arsenic in your juice. How much is too much? Federal limits don’t exist.
Arsenic has long been recognized as a poison and a contaminant in
drinking water, but now concerns are growing about arsenic in foods,
especially in fruit juices that are a mainstay for children.
Controversy over arsenic in apple juice made headlines as the school
year began when Mehmet Oz, M.D., host of “The Dr. Oz Show,” told viewers
that tests he’d commissioned found 10 of three dozen apple-juice
samples with total arsenic levels exceeding 10 parts per billion (ppb).
There’s no federal arsenic threshold for juice or most foods, though the
limit for bottled and public water is 10 ppb.
The Food and Drug
Administration, trying to reassure consumers about the safety of apple
juice, claimed that most arsenic in juices and other foods is of the
organic type that is “essentially harmless.”
But an investigation by Consumer Reports shows otherwise. Our study,
including tests of apple and grape juice (download a PDF of our complete
test results), a scientific analysis of federal health data, a consumer
poll, and interviews with doctors and other experts, finds the
following:
Roughly 10 percent of our juice samples, from five brands, had total
arsenic levels that exceeded federal drinking-water standards. Most of
that arsenic was inorganic arsenic, a known carcinogen.
One in four samples had lead levels higher than the FDA’s
bottled-water limit of 5 ppb. As with arsenic, no federal limit exists
for lead in juice.
Apple and grape juice constitute a significant source of dietary
exposure to arsenic, according to our analysis of federal health data
from 2003 through 2008.
Children drink a lot of juice. Thirty-five percent of children 5 and
younger drink juice in quantities exceeding pediatricians’
recommendations, our poll of parents shows.
Mounting scientific evidence suggests that chronic exposure to
arsenic and lead even at levels below water standards can result in
serious health problems.
Inorganic arsenic has been detected at disturbing levels in other
foods, too, which suggests that more must be done to reduce overall
dietary exposure.
Our findings have prompted Consumers Union, the advocacy arm of
Consumer Reports, to urge the FDA to set arsenic and lead standards for
apple and grape juice. Our scientists believe that juice should at least
meet the 5 ppb lead limit for bottled water. They recommend an even
lower arsenic limit for juice: 3 ppb.
“People sometimes say, ‘If arsenic exposure is so bad, why don’t you
see more people sick or dying from it?’ But the many diseases likely to
be increased by exposure even at relatively low levels are so common
already that its effects are overlooked simply because no one has looked
carefully for the connection,” says Joshua Hamilton, Ph.D., a
toxicologist specializing in arsenic research and the chief academic and
scientific officer at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole,
Mass.
As our investigation found, when scientists and doctors do look, the
connections they’ve found underscore the need to protect public health
by reducing Americans’ exposure to this potent toxin. (VN: I bet if these owners of these companies producing this dangerous levels of poisons in our juice, were jailed for a substantial amount of time, by being charged with felony attempted murder or even assault, with intent to do damage, they would self regulate at the very least.)
Many sources of exposure
Arsenic is a naturally occurring element that can contaminate
groundwater used for drinking and irrigation in areas where it’s
abundant, such as parts of New England, the Midwest, and the Southwest.

results of arsenic levels in groundwater throughout the United States.
But the public’s exposure to arsenic extends beyond those areas
because since 1910, the United States has used roughly 1.6 million tons
of it for agricultural and other industrial uses. About half of that
cumulative total has been used since only the mid-1960s. Lead-arsenate
insecticides were widely used in cotton fields, orchards, and vineyards
until their use was banned in the 1980s. But residues in the soil can
still contaminate crops.
For decades, arsenic was also used in a preservative for
pressure-treated lumber commonly used for decks and playground
equipment. In 2003 that use was banned, (as was most residential use)
but the wood can contribute to arsenic in groundwater when it’s recycled
as mulch.
Other sources of exposure include coal-fired power plants and
smelters that heat arsenic-containing ores to process copper or lead.
Today the quantity of arsenic released into the environment in the
United States by human activities is three times more than that released
from natural sources, says the federal Agency for Toxic Substances and
Disease Registry.
The form of arsenic in the examples above is inorganic arsenic. It’s a
carcinogen known to cause bladder, lung, and skin cancer in people and
to increase risks of cardiovascular disease, immunodeficiencies, and
type 2 diabetes.
The other form that arsenic takes is organic arsenic, created when
arsenic binds to molecules containing carbon. Fish can contain an
organic form of arsenic called arsenobetaine, generally considered
nontoxic to humans. But questions have been raised about the human
health effects of other types of organic arsenic in foods, including
juice.
Use of organic arsenic in agricultural products has also caused
concern. For instance, the EPA in 2006 took steps to stop the use of
herbicides containing organic arsenic because of their potential to turn
into inorganic arsenic in soil and contaminate drinking water. And in
2011, working with the FDA, drug company Alpharma agreed to suspend the
sale of Roxarsone, a poultry-feed additive, because it contained an
organic form of arsenic that could convert into inorganic arsenic inside
the bird, potentially contaminating the meat. Or it could contaminate
soil when chicken droppings are used as fertilizer. Other arsenic feed
additives are still being used.
Vatic Note: What is amazing about this article is just how uneducated all western nations are becoming. It appears that curriculum is being set by some shadow government, and its done globally. What I learned from this is that the Asian countries are now in the top of the globe while the western countries are slipping down hill. Britain is now 32 and the US is 28 out of 36, and the Asian countries are up in the single digits as we used to be BEFORE BEING FEDERALIZED. So are the "SILENT WEAPONS FOR QUIET WARS" now in play????

two rather silly ‘scientists’ who went to Greenland to study how it is
‘melting’ have died and naturally, their foolish deaths are blamed on
‘global warming’ not the extreme cold of the last two winters.
When news came through last week that Marc and Philip
were missing in the Arctic, presumed drowned during an expedition to
collect data on the state of the ice, their former students started
reaching out to each other. We have spent the last few days exchanging
messages of grief and shock.
Marc was an experienced Polar explorer, with an unwavering commitment
to tackling climate change. His expertise was in gathering ice and snow
samples that could be used to validate existing data, such as that
gathered by ESA’s CryoSat.
So, in a very tiny sliver of ‘melt’, these two goofballs managed to
drown?
Amazing! The presumption that they drowned is peculiar. The
fact that the warmists all gripped this explanation right off the bat
shows us how ‘scientific’ they all are. Not even slightly. Zero proof
is given for drowning. Perhaps they were eaten by polar bears? Polar
bears are hungry due to the thick ice which means no seals.
Greenland is not melting much these days. Neither is Antarctica.

Vatic Note: This, below, is about a German man 75 years old that set himself on fire and burned to death to make a point. He did so in a letter explaining why he did this. This is an amazing story of courage and integrity. He is half Jewish and spent time in the camps in Nazi Germany during the war.

On April 25th, 1995 Reinhold Elstner, a 75 year-old veteran of the
Second World War, walked up to the steps of Munich’s historical
Feldherrnhalle, doused himself in gasoline and set himself on fire to
protest against what he called “the ongoing official slander and
demonization of the German People and German soldiers 50 years after the
end of World War II”.
In his parting letter he wrote:
“Fifty years of unrelenting smear campaigns and demonization of an entire people are enough.
Fifty years of incessant insults hurled at German war veterans are enough.
With my 75 years of age, all I can do is to set a final sign of
contemplation with my death in flames. And if only one German comes to
consciousness and finds his way to the truth, then my sacrifice will not
have been in vain.”

In Germany, in Austria, in Switzerland, and everywhere else in the world: Please awaken!
50 years of never-ending defamation, ugly lies and the demonization of an entire people are enough, 50 years of incredible insults to former German soldiers, of
blackmail that costs billions, and of “democratic” hate, are more than
one can take, 50 years of judicial Zionist revenge are sufficient, 50 years of trying to create rifts between generations of Germans by criminalizing the fathers and grandfathers are too much.
It is incredible what we have to take in this anniversary
year.
A Niagara-like flood of lies and defamations inundates us. Since I
am now 75 years of age, I cannot do much anymore but I can still seek
death by self-immolation; one last deed that may act as a signal to the
Germans to regain their senses. Even if through my deed only one German
will awaken, and because of it will find the way to the truth, then my
sacrifice will not have been in vain.
I felt I had no other choice after I realized that now, after
50 years, there seems a little hope that reason would gain the upper
hand. As someone who was driven from his home after the war, I always
had one hope, that that which was granted the Israelis after 2,000
years, namely the right to return to “home” would also be granted German
expellees.
What happened to the promise of self-determination that was
promulgated in 1919, when millions of Germans were forced to live under
foreign rule? To this day we have to suffer from these wrongs, and I can
state that it wasn’t the Germans who can be held responsible for it.
I am a Sudeten German. I had a Czech grandmother, and from
the other side Czech and Jewish relatives, some of whom had been
incarcerated in concentration camps like Buchenwald, Dora (Nordhausen)
and Theresienstadt. I never belonged either to the Nazi party or even to
any other group that was in the slightest tainted by the association
with national socialism. We always had the best of relationship with our
non-German kin, and, when necessary, we helped each other.
During the
war, our food market with bakery was responsible for the distribution of
food stuffs to the French POWs and Ostarbeiter living in the town.
Everyone was dealt with fairly, and this assured that at war’s end our
business was not plundered because the French POWs guarded it until they
were repatriated to their own country.
Our relatives who had been
prisoners in the concentration camps came already home on the 10th of
May, 1945 (two days after the hostilities had ceased), and offered their
help. Of special assistance was the Jewish uncle from Prague who in the
Czech capital had seen the horrible blood bath Czech partisans had
caused among the Germans left there. The horror of these cold-blooded
killings could still be seen in the man’s eyes, obviously a horror the
likes of which this former prisoner of the Reich had not experienced
during his incarceration.
I was a soldier of the Wehrmacht of the Greater German Reich,
fighting, from day one on the Eastern front. To this one must add a few
years of slave work as a POW in the Soviet Union.
I well remember the Kristallnacht of 1938 because on that day
I met a crying Jewish girl, a girl with whom I had been studying. But I
was much more shocked when I saw in Russia how all churches had been
desecrated, how they were used for stables and machine shops; I saw the
pigs grunt, sheep bleat, machines hammering in holy places.
Yet, for me
the worst was when I saw churches being used as museums for atheism. And
all this occurred with the active connivance of the Jews , (VN: khazars...) that very
small minority of which so many members were the executing goons of
Stalin. Foremost amongst these people was the Kaganovich clan, seven
brothers and sisters, who were such mass murderers that alleged
SS-killers can be called harmless by comparison.
After I was permitted to go “home” after my discharge from
Russian POW camps (what a mockery to say to go “home” to a POW who has
been expelled from his ancestral homeland), I heard for the first time
of the brutalities of the German concentration camps but at first
nothing of any gas chambers and of the killing of human beings through
the use of poison gas.
On the contrary, I was told that the
concentration camps at Theresienstadt and Buchenwald (Dora) even had
bordellos for the inmates within the confines of the camp. Then, on the
occasion of the “Auschwitz trials”, and not only at the Nürnberg trials,
Herr Broszat of the “Institute for Modern History” stated that the
famous “six million” figure is only a symbolic number. In spite of the
fact that Herr Broszat had also declared that there had been no gas
chambers used for the killing of human beings in any camps on German
Reich soil, for years alleged gas chambers were shown to visitors at
Buchenwald, Dachau, Mauthausen, and the like. Lies, nothing but lies to
this day.
Everything became very clear to me when I read dozens of
books written by Jews and so-called anti-fascists. In addition, I was
able to draw upon my own experience in Russia. I lived for two years in
the hospital town of Porchov, where already in the first winter the
danger of typhus epidemic arose, and all the hospitals and first-aid
stations were deloused with what we called then “K.Z.Gas” (concentration
camp gas), namely “Zyklon-B”.
There I learned how dangerous it was to
handle this poison gas even though I did not belong to the teams that
defumigated the buildings. At any rate, ever since then I have had no
choice but to regard all concentration camp memoirs that describe the
alleged “gas chambers” as fairy tales. This may be the real reason why
all concentration camp reports (by the victims, the translator) are
being accepted as true under a so-called “Judicial notice” and need not
to be proven.
In 1988 the German TV brought a report on Babi Yar (the
ravine near Kiev in the Ukraine, the translator) where it was stated
that the SS had killed 36,000 Jews by stoning them. Three years later, a
Mrs. Kayser wrote a report for the newspaper “TZ” in Munich stating

announced today that it obtained more than 100 pages of previously
classified “Secret” documents from the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of State revealing
that DOD almost immediately reported that the attack on the U.S.
Consulate in Benghazi was committed by the al Qaeda and Muslim
Brotherhood-linked “Brigades of the Captive Omar Abdul Rahman” (BCOAR),
and had been planned at least 10 days in advance.
Rahman is known as the Blind Sheikh, and is serving life in prison
for his involvement in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and other
terrorist acts. The new documents also provide the first official
confirmation that shows the U.S. government was aware of arms shipments
from Benghazi to Syria. The documents also include an August 2012
analysis warning of the rise of ISIS and the predicted failure of the

The documents were released in response to a court order in accordance with a May 15, 2014, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit
filed against both the DOD and State Department seeking communications
between the two agencies and congressional leaders “on matters related
to the activities of any agency or department of the U.S. government at
the Special Mission Compound and/or classified annex in Benghazi.”
Spelling and punctuation is duplicated in this release without corrections.
A Defense Department document
from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), dated September 12, 2012,
the day after the Benghazi attack, details that the attack on the
compound had been carefully planned by the BOCAR terrorist group “to
kill as many Americans as possible.” The document was sent to
then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, then-Defense Secretary Leon
Panetta, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Obama White House National
Security Council. The heavily redacted Defense Department “information
report” says that the attack on the Benghazi facility “was planned and
executed by The Brigades of the Captive Omar Abdul Rahman (BCOAR).” The
group subscribes to “AQ ideologies:”
The attack was planned ten or more days prior
on approximately 01 September 2012. The intention was to attack the
consulate and to kill as many Americans as possible to seek revenge for
U.S. killing of Aboyahiye ((ALALIBY)) in Pakistan and in memorial of the
11 September 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center buildings.
“A violent radical,” the DIA report says, is “the leader of BCOAR is
Abdul Baset ((AZUZ)), AZUZ was sent by ((ZAWARI)) to set up Al Qaeda
(AQ) bases in Libya.” The group’s headquarters was set up with the
approval of a “member of the Muslim brother hood movement…where they
have large caches of weapons. Some of these caches are disguised by
feeding troughs for livestock. They have SA-7 and SA-23/4 MANPADS…they
train almost every day focusing on religious lessons and scriptures
including three lessons a day of jihadist ideology.”
The Defense Department reported the group maintained written
documents, in “a small rectangular room, approximately 12 meters by 6
meters…that contain information on all of the AQ activity in Libya.”
(Azuz is again blamed for the Benghazi attack in an October 2012 DIA document.)
The DOD documents also contain the first official documentation
that the Obama administration knew that weapons were being shipped from
the Port of Benghazi to rebel troops in Syria. An October 2012 report
confirms:
Weapons from the former Libya military
stockpiles were shipped from the port of Benghazi, Libya to the Port of
Banias and the Port of Borj Islam, Syria. The weapons shipped during
late-August 2012 were Sniper rifles, RPG’s, and 125 mm and 155mm
howitzers missiles.
During the immediate aftermath of, and following the
uncertainty caused by, the downfall of the ((Qaddafi)) regime in October
2011 and up until early September of 2012, weapons from the former
Libya military stockpiles located in Benghazi, Libya were shipped from
the port of Benghazi, Libya to the ports of Banias and the Port of Borj
Islam, Syria.
The Syrian ports were chosen due to the small amount of
cargo traffic transiting these two ports. The ships used to transport
the weapons were medium-sized and able to hold 10 or less shipping
containers of cargo.
The DIA document further details:
The weapons shipped from Syria during
late-August 2012 were Sniper rifles, RPG’s and 125mm and 155mm howitzers
missiles. The numbers for each weapon were estimated to be: 500 Sniper
rifles, 100 RPG launchers with 300 total rounds, and approximately 400
howitzers missiles [200 ea – 125mm and 200ea – 155 mm.]
The heavily redacted document does not disclose who was shipping the weapons. (VN: We did a blog on that issue back when Benghazi was happening and we showed photos of John McCain in Libya, walking with the since murdered Ambassador, who had a frown on his face and was distraught, while McCain was grinning from ear to ear and the article clearly stated that he was delivering money and weapons to the rebels in Libya, but now we know it was for Syrian CIA financed terrorist groups working for the globalist intel agencies such as CIA, Mossad and MI6. )
Another DIA report,
written in August 2012 (the same time period the U.S. was monitoring
weapons flows from Libya to Syria), said that the opposition in Syria
was driven by al Qaeda and other extremist Muslim groups: “the Salafist,
the Muslim Brotherhood, and AQI are the major forces driving the
insurgency in Syria.” The growing sectarian direction of the war was
predicted to have dire consequences for Iraq, which included the “grave
danger” of the rise of ISIS: GENOCIDE IRAQ ~ 17,073 MUSLIM SUNNIS HAVE BEEN MURDERED BY MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD’S ISIS IN 2014
The deterioration of the situation has dire consequences on the Iraqi situation and are as follows: This creates the ideal atmosphere for AQI [al Qaeda Iraq] to
return to its old pockets in Mosul and Ramadi, and will provide a
renewed momentum under the presumption of unifying the jihad among Sunni
Iraq and Syria, and the rest of the Sunnis in the Arab world against
what it considers one enemy, the dissenters. ISI could also declare an
Islamic state through its union with other terrorist organizations in
Iraq and Syria, which will create grave danger in regards to unifying
Iraq and the protection of its territory.
Some of the “dire consequences” are blacked out but the DIA
presciently warned one such consequence would be the “renewing
facilitation of terrorist elements from all over the Arab world entering
into Iraqi Arena.”

From a separate lawsuit, the State Department produced a document
created the morning after the Benghazi attack by Hillary Clinton’s
offices, and the Operations Center in the Office of the Executive
Secretariat that was sent widely through the agency, including to Joseph
McManus (then-Hillary Clinton’s executive assistant).
At 6:00 am, a few hours after the attack, the top office of the State
Department sent a “spot report” on the “Attack on U.S. Diplomatic
Mission in Benghazi” that makes no mention of videos or demonstrations:
Four COM personnel were killed and three were wounded in an attack by
dozens of fighters on the U.S. Diplomatic Mission in Benghazi beginning
approximately 1550 Eastern Time….
The State Department has yet to turn over any documents from the
secret email accounts of Hillary Clinton and other top State Department
officials.
“These documents are jaw-dropping. No wonder we had to file more FOIA lawsuits and wait over two years
for them. If the American people had known the truth – that Barack
Obama, Hillary Clinton and other top administration officials knew that
the Benghazi attack was an al-Qaeda terrorist attack from the get-go –

According to Iraqi government statistics, the rate of cancer in the country has skyrocketed from 40 per 100,000 people prior to the First Gulf War in 1991, to 800 per 100,000 in 1995, to at least 1,600 per 100,000 in 2005.
The culprit behind all of these health issues is depleted uranium, a byproduct of uranium enrichment. With a mass fraction a third of what fissile uranium would have, depleted uranium emits less alpha radiation — up to 60 percent less than natural uranium, according to the U.S. Department of Defense. This “relative” safety offered a rationale for many nations — particularly, the U.S. — to put the waste material to use.
As depleted uranium is 1.67 times denser than lead, a depleted uranium projectile can be smaller than an equivalent lead projectile but produce similar results. This smaller size means a smaller diameter, less aerodynamic drag and a smaller area of impact, meaning that depleted uranium bullets can travel faster and inflict more pressure on impact, causing deeper penetration. Additionally, depleted uranium is incendiary and self-sharpening, making depleted uranium ideal for anti-tank ammunition. It is also used as armor plating for much of America’s tank fleet.
The problem with using depleted uranium, however, lies in the fact that depleted uranium is mostly de-energized. In practical terms, depleted uranium can have — at a minimum — 40 percent the radioactivity of natural uranium with a half-life that can be measured in millennia (between 703 million to 4.468 billion years).
While the depleted uranium presents little to no risk to health via radiation due to its relatively weak radioactivity, direct internal contact with the heavy metal can have chemical toxicity effects on the nervous system, liver, heart and kidneys, with DNA mutations and RNA transcription errors being reported in the case of depleted uranium dust being absorbed in vitro.
While depleted uranium is not as toxic as other heavy metals, such as mercury or lead, pronounced toxicity is still possible through repeated or chronic exposure.
The politics of depleted uranium
With the Iraqi government currently crippled by the insurgency efforts of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria — a group requesting that it be known simply as “the Caliphate” or “the Islamic State,” reflecting its perceived lack of challenge to its claims — and with the U.S. and the United Kingdom holding to the stance that depleted uranium presents no direct threat to Iraqi civilians, there is no active effort to properly dispose of the material.
As little information on the dangers of the material has been shared with the Iraqi people, depleted uranium and depleted uranium-tainted metals are regularly sold for scrap metal and re-used for any numbers of purposes — including machinery parts, cookery implements and home furnishings.
Children play in depleted uranium-contaminated fields, which presents a heightened risk of unintentional ingestion due to hand-to-mouth activity. Abandoned vehicles salvaged for metal present a particularly high risk, as depleted uranium dust could accumulate from depleted uranium munitions, without access to an active airflow to dissipate it.
This lack of shared information may be intentional, though. The U.S. and the U.K. are actively blocking or opposing a binding international response to or study of the use of depleted uranium in warzones.
Citing previous studies from the World Health Organization, NATO and the International Atomic Energy Agency, France, the U.S. and the U.K. — the world’s primary users of military-grade depleted uranium — argue that future studies are unnecessary and are being requested in a bid to ultimately hold the U.S. and its primary allies responsible for a health situation in Iraq that may have nothing to do with those countries.
This, despite the fact that the studies cited by the U.S., the U.K. and France in their rebuttal did not look into the health implications of depleted uranium exposure, but simply depleted uranium radiation.
Depleted uranium is commonly used in the civilian market — from the triggering sensor in smoke detectors to a colorant used in dental porcelain. As it is weakly-radioactive, the radiation exposure danger of the metal does not typically exceed the ambient radiation normally present at sea level. It is believed that it would take more than 200 years for the radioactivity from a piece of depleted uranium to penetrate a person’s skin if that person was grasping the metal in his bare hand. This, however, does not mitigate or dismiss risk the metal poses to internal organs.
A known problem
However, according to Wim Zwijnenburg, policy advisor for security and disarmament for PAX, a Dutch pro-peace organization, and author of the paper “Laid to Waste: Depleted uranium contaminated military scrap in Iraq,” the U.S. is aware of the dangers of depleted uranium because the country has spent millions safeguarding its bases and military personnel from it.
As of 1999, military regulations on how to deal with vehicles contaminated with depleted uranium have been implemented, and in 2005, the General Accounting Office alleged that the Department of Defense was not monitoring the soil in Iraq to ascertain exposure to hazardous materials by American service members.
At the time, however, a number of states, Congress members and military service organizations were actively challenging the Defense Department’s assertions that depleted uranium had minimal effect on the lives of the Iraq War veterans claiming depleted uranium poisoning.
“In regards to the U.S. responsibility for the depleted uranium, the Iraqi government has been put under pressure by the U.S. government not to publish too much information about it or to speculate on what it thinks has happened and to limit government resources to this issue,” Zwijnenburg told MintPress News, “as the Iraqi government still receives a lot of support from the U.S. government. Additionally, the Iraqi government does not want to scare off investment, particularly in the south, such as oil investors who may be scared off with talk of depleted uranium contamination."
“Also, the Saddam Hussein regime used depleted uranium use as a propaganda tool against the U.S. So, there is a generation of Iraqis that — in large portions — believe that the Americans gave them these diseases, including cancer. While there is an increase in the rise of cancer in Iraq, it cannot be easily attributed to [depleted uranium] use. However, the difficulty in studying the effects leave the issue in contention.”
Heavy metal America
The U.S. has suffered from its own heavy metal contamination crisis. Steve Fetter, professor at the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy and co-author of the paper “The Hazard Posed by Depleted Uranium Munitions,” suggested to MintPress an analogous comparison to the use of depleted uranium in Iraq in order to highlight the danger of the depleted uranium.
From the 1920s to the mid-1970s, tetraethyl lead was added to gasoline to boost octane and increase fuel economy. The problem is that tetraethyl lead is toxic. The patent holders knew it was toxic, but used it anyway, despite the fact that ethanol was widely available at the time and was also known to be an octane booster.
The choice between tetraethyl lead and ethanol was a question of profit. At the time, ethanol was commonly distilled in backyard stills and mixed with gasoline to prevent “knocking,” or the misfiring of an engine’s cylinder before the air-gas mixture is properly compressed. As the use of ethanol in gasoline was a known procedure, it was not patentable, and therefore, not controllable.
As tetraethyl lead had the added benefit of sealing the microwelds used for the cylinder heads of early cars — extending the life of the car — the additive was pushed through. Although, this was done despite the fact that a collaborator on the development of the chemical wrote that “it’s a creeping and malicious poison.” During its first three years of production, eight workers died from lead poisoning at DuPont’s manufacturing plant in Deepwater, New Jersey, and another five died and 45 were hospitalized from the Baywater, New Jersey, Standard Oil plant. Like I have said, its going to have to be up to us to do the holding accountable, since they now control the system that would normally hold them in such state, but now its a guarantee, it will never happen through the system, only through us at the grassroots level.)
Despite the known dangers, the Public Health Service ruled that the need for fuel outweighed the danger to people or the environment, and it allowed leaded gasoline to be sold until the Environmental Protection Agency ordered a scheduled phase-out of tetraethyl lead in 1974. Auto manufacturers ultimately backed this move when it was discovered that leaded gasoline clogged catalytic converters.
During the 50 years of leaded gasoline use, lead concentration in the blood rose 400 percent. As car use is heaviest in urban centers, the inner city and the populations that live there — the poor, blacks, Latinos and migrant populations — experienced the effects of lead toxicity the most.
These effects include mental retardation; high blood pressure; neurological issues, including spasms, mood swings, memory loss, tingling and/or numbness in the extremities, muscle weakness and headaches/migraines; miscarriages or premature births; reduced or mutated sperm; and severe bodily pain.

As lead is naturally-occurring and a stable, non-decomposing element, lead concentration inside the body will not diminish under normal processes. If someone was exposed to lead, then, the effects of the metal could continue to cause harm even after the source had been cut, and for women of child-bearing age, the contamination could be transferred in vitro.
While comparing the United States’ use of leaded gasoline to Iraq’s depleted uranium is not a perfect analogy — lead is more toxic than uranium, for example, and there is an estimated 440,000 kilograms of depleted uranium in Iraq, compared to over a million tons of lead per year by the time the rollback began — the moral parallels are striking.
In the aftermath of leaded gasoline — which is still sold in the U.S. for non-consumer automotive uses — the U.S. is still dealing with entire socioeconomic groups affected by lead poisoning. The negative effects have manifested in a host of illnesses and disabilities in the black community and have been pointed to as a likely cause for the spike in criminality in the inner city.
When looking at the potential of inflicting the same level of hardship on the Iraqis, caution indeed becomes the better part of virtue. While it can be argued that depleted uranium is likely not a threat to the Iraqis, the danger of the chemical should not be dismissed. (It should be noted, too, that early testimony for leaded gasoline similarly suggested that there was no risk to the public.) “Contaminated vehicles and fragments of depleted uranium penetrators abandoned on the battlefield represent an ‘attractive nuisance.’ Curious passers-by, both adults and children, will enter the vehicles and thereby be subject to potentially significant levels of uranium exposure from resuspended and ingested aerosols. Fragments of penetrators may be picked up and taken home as souvenirs,” read the conclusion to “The Hazard Posed by Depleted Uranium Munitions.”
“In the absence of more costly decontamination efforts, we would propose that all [depleted uranium]-contaminated vehicles be filled with concrete and buried and that [depleted uranium] penetrator fragments be picked up and buried as low-level radioactive waste.”
