“March Against Monsanto” protesters say they wanted to call attention to the dangers posed by genetically modified food and the food giants that produce it. Founder and organizer Tami Canal said protests were held in 436 cities in 52 countries.

Genetically modified plants are grown from seeds that are engineered to resist insecticides and herbicides, add nutritional benefits or otherwise improve crop yields and increase the global food supply. Most corn, soybean and cotton crops grown in the United States today have been genetically modified.

But some say genetically modified organisms can lead to serious health conditions and harm the environment. The use of GMOs has been a growing issue of contention in recent years, with health advocates pushing for mandatory labeling of genetically modified products even though the federal government and many scientists say the technology is safe. (VN: They have conducted themselves in such a manner, that no one believes them anymore about anything)

The ‘March Against Monsanto’ movement began just a few months ago, when Canal created a Facebook page on Feb. 28 calling for a rally against the company’s practices.

“If I had gotten 3,000 people to join me, I would have considered that a success,” she said Saturday. Instead, she said two million responded to her message.

Vatic Note: This is very interesting and supports a very early on story that broke in Iraq. I was following events in Iraq very closely because I wanted to know the 'real reason' for the invasion of Iraq. Why did the Bush admin and the neocons/libs support it since there was no evidence Iraq had anything to do with 9-11. If anything, evidence was already starting to come out that supported the fact that Israel did it with their partner in the ME, Saudi Arabia.

Well, in one of the daily exposes that were coming out at the time, one showed up that intrigued me. (I believe it was Seymour Hersh from the New Yorker that broke the story) Pallets of $100 dollar bills were transported into Iraq by a US military cargo plane, and there was an alternative press attempt to find out who the money was for and how did it get there and who packed the pallets that arrived with untraceable cash?

What came out was that Goldman sucks in NY is who packed the cash onto the pallet for transport to Iraq. Then we found out it was delivered to Al Qaeda in Iraq and was to be used by AQ to undermine the Iranian government. Goldman Sachs is basically owned by Rothschild, which means Israel.

And Goldman Sachs was heavily entrenched in the Bush administration so it was no surprise a military cargo plane was used to deliver the cash to AQ. What that means was that AQ was, on that job, working for Israel/Rothschild. That simply confirmed that AQ as a threat did not exist, but Al Qaeda as a "front" for the decievers wrong doing, did exist. Also, lets not forget the Mind control manufacturing going on in Gitmo with innocent muslims who have done nothing wrong, until they are mind controlled enough that they release them to do jobs that support the Israeli's plan to push hatred against Muslims. Press TV: Dr. Barrett let’s look at this alliance between al-Nusra and Israel. A representative of the group has recently said that Israel is not the enemy, but the Syrian government. What exactly does that mean for an entity claiming to be Islamic?

Barrett: Well this whole al-Qaeda entity is a very, very loose entity. The word al-Qaeda actually means the database and originally referred to a CIA database of Arab Mujahedeen fighters, who were recruited by the CIA and their puppets in Saudi Arabia to go defend the US Empire in Afghanistan.

“Al-Qaeda” including this Nusra Front in Syria has never attacked the Israelis. This is nothing new when they say the Israelis aren’t their enemy. And I agree with Mr. Choudary, he is absolutely correct, they have never attacked Israel and in fact the strange thing about so called al-Qaeda is that in all of the years of its supposed existence, never once has it ever attacked Israel.

Now, there are Israeli soft-targets galore all over the world just waiting for them, but no, who do they attack? They attack Muslims.

Ninety-five to ninety-nine percent of all the victims and targets of these so called al-Qaeda groups have always been and still are their fellow Muslims. Once in a while they pretend to attack the United States, although we now know that the major so called al-Qaeda attacks in the United States, such as 9/11 and these Boston bombings are false flag events.

So, what we are really seeing here is the so-called al-Qaeda, which is now so obviously allied to the State of Israel in Syria, has always been allied to the State of Israel and to the extreme radical pro-empire forces in the US.

That is what 9/11 was, it was a publicity stunt to cause the US to kill millions of Muslims and to strengthen its empire on behalf of Israel.

I have been truly surprised by the comments I received thanks to my last article calling into question this entire London "beheading" of a UK soldier in broad daylight in Woolwich, a suburb of London, England. It has been pathetic to see that commentators take pot shots at myself for being the messenger..... I have been questioning this murder in Woolwich since it first happened two days ago, and I am standing firm on the thought that this is another "false flag" attack to strike fear into the general public....

Police attacked and cars torched in Stockholm suburbs as unrest sparked by long-term youth unemployment and poverty spread

Hundreds of youth have burned down a restaurant, set fire to more than 340 cars and attacked police during a fourth night of rioting in the suburbs of the Swedish capital, shocking a country that dodged the worst of the financial crisis but failed to solve youth unemployment and resentment among asylum seekers.

Violence spread across Stockholm on Wednesday, as large numbers of young people rampaged through the suburbs, throwing stones, breaking windows and destroying cars. Police in the southern city of Malmo said two cars had been set ablaze.

Media reports said a police station office was set on fire in Stockholm's southern suburb of Rågsved, where several people were also detained. No one was hurt and the fire was quickly put out.

Rioters defied a call for calm from the country's prime minister, going on the rampage after nightfall damaging stores, schools, a police station and an arts and crafts centre in the four days of violence.

"I think there is a feeling that we need to be in more places tonight," said Towe Hagg, spokeswoman for Stockholm police. One police officer was injured in the latest attacks and five people were arrested for attempted arson.

Selcuk Ceken, who works at a youth centre in the district of Hagsatra, said 40-50 youths threw stones at police and smashed windows before running away.
He said the rioters were in their 20s and appeared to be well-organised. "It's difficult to say why they're doing this," he said. "Maybe it's anger at the law and order forces, maybe it's anger at their own personal situation, such as unemployment or having nowhere to live."

The disturbances appear to have been sparked by the police killing a 69-year-old man wielding a machete in the suburb of Husby earlier this month, which prompted accusations of police brutality. The riots then spread to other poor Stockholm suburbs. (VN: sound familiar? We have had numerous murders by police in this country of citizens who were unarmed, they were not even carrying a machete. Old people, teenagers, a woman was shot through the window of her car because she rolled up the window and the police killed her, sending a message to citizens, that rolling up your window is a "DEATH PENALTY OFFENSE". Since when? They are out of control and soon will pay the price for that when thousands of citizens decide to strike back. The cops better be careful if they value their own safety and that of their families. They better start honoring their oath of office.)

"We see a society that is becoming increasingly divided and where the gaps, both socially and economically, are becoming larger," said Rami Al-khamisi, co-founder of Megafonen, a group that works for social change in the suburbs. "And the people out here are being hit the hardest … We have institutional racism."

"The reason is very simple. Unemployment, the housing situation, disrespect from police," said Rouzbeh Djalaie, editor of Norra Sidan newspaper. "It just takes something to start a riot, and that was the shooting."

Djalaie said youths were often stopped by police in the streets for identity checks. During the riots, he said some police called local youths "apes".
The TV pictures of blazing cars has shocked a country proud of its reputation for social justice as well as its hospitality towards refugees from war and repression. (VN: Sound familiar? Vatic Note: I just saw this on a blog that I had been commenting on about Kokesh as I felt something was wrong, from the beginning about this massive gun carrying march on Washington DC. AT first I thought Kokesh had not thought this out enough, but then after his bogus arrest, I believed he was in on it and said so on the blog I was visiting.

This is all for show. His father is a multi millionaire venture capitalist ( and race track owner) who was charged by the SEC in a $45 mill law suit. This is something Adam has never mentioned, ever. If you research the time line, you'll see that Adam entered the scene right about the time the Feds were wrapping up their case against his father. I can find no resolution to the case after almost 5 years.

And, of course, the more recent revelation that Kokesh has now implicated himself as being associated with Obama's 'Organizing for Action' via his weird "now you see it, now you don't", FB post. Some say it was a joke, but Kokesh never explained why it was on his page. He never said it was a joke. He never said that it was hacked. I always thought he was a "loose cannon".

In a stunning betrayal of the Constitution of the United States, which obligates the United States to conform to the UN Charter and international law, the US Senate has before it a resolution that commits the nation to support Israel militarily, diplomatically, and economically should it decide to attack Iran “in its legitimate self-defense”, where every (Illegal) action Israel has ever taken–from the Six Days War to its incursions into Lebanon–has been deemed by the American government to be “in its legitimate self-defense”.

The resolution states:

"If the Government of Israel is compelled to take military action in legitimate self defense against Iran’s nuclear weapons program, the United States Government should stand with Israel and provide, in accordance with United States law and the constitutional responsibility of Congress to authorize the use of military force, diplomatic, military, and economic support to the Government of Israel in its defense of its territory, people, and existence."

As M.J. Rosenberg has observed,

[T]he “self-defense” limitation is no limitation at all. The United States has deemed all major Israeli military actions as “self-defense” (most recently two Gaza wars) with the oft-repeated statement that the United States is “fully supportive of Israel’s right to defend itself.” Couple that with President Obama’s language ruling out containment of a nuclear Iran and it’s pretty clear that any attack by Israel on Iran will be deemed self-defense by the United States."

Rand Paul (R-KY) has been doing what he can to tone down the resolution, but whether he can prevail is yet to be seen. While this is a non-binding resolution that does not have the force of law in committing the nation to support Israel under these circumstances, it does express “the sense of the Senate”. While the President is obligated by the Constitution to seek its “advice and consent”, this commitment violates international law and the UN Charter and therefore the Constitution itself.

At the very least, AIPAC should be required to register as a “foreign agent”. Its virtually complete domination of American foreign policy has led wits to describe the US as “the United States of Israel”. In the video a man who is believed to be a rebel commander named Khalid al-Hamad, who goes by the nom de guerre Abu Sakkar, bends over the government soldier, knife in hand. With his right hand he moves what appears to be the dead man’s heart onto a flat piece of wood or metal lying across the body. With his left hand he pulls what appears to be a lung across the open cavity in the man’s chest.

According to two of Abu Sakkar’s fellow rebels, who said they were present at the scene, Abu Sakkar had cut the organs out of the man’s body. The man believed to be Abu Sakkar then works his knife through the flesh of the dead man’s torso before he stands to face the camera, holding an organ in each hand.

“I swear we will eat from your hearts and livers, you dogs of Bashar,” he says, referring to supporters of Syrian President Bashar Assad. Off camera, a small crowd can be heard calling out “Allahu akbar” — God is great. Then the man raises one of the bloodied organs to his lips and starts to tear off a chunk with his teeth.
