Perhaps they believe that their underground survival bunkers with bullet-resistant doors and geothermal power and anti-chemical air filters and infrared surveillance devices and pepper spray detonators will sustain them for two or three generations.

Perhaps they feel immune from the killings in the streets, for they rarely venture into the streets anymore. They don't care about the great masses of ordinary people, nor do they think they need us.

Or do they? There are a number of ways that the super-rich, because of their greed and lack of empathy for others, may be hastening their own demise, while taking the rest of us with them.

Is it to get rid of the hated Americans who are too independant thinking? Is it to create choas to justify martial law??? Is it to create Chaos to justify the use of foreign troops on our soil??? Is it to collect our guns? Is it all of the above? I don't know since I am not privy to their reasons and agendas, but I can guess. Anyone else have a better or additional idea of why they are doing this to us and then declaring part of our land off limits to American citizens in a sovereign state and acceding it to the Mexican drug cartels right in the state of Arizona???? Aren't these Wall street players basically the same guys handling the gulf who made it the way it is and then not fixing it as a solution???? Oh, thats right, the rigs are used as drop offs for the drugs from Columbia. I forgot.

Just before sunset on April 10, 2006, a DC-9 jet landed at the international airport in the port city of Ciudad del Carmen, 500 miles east of Mexico City. As soldiers on the ground approached the plane, the crew tried to shoo them away, saying there was a dangerous oil leak. So the troops grew suspicious and searched the jet.

They found 128 black suitcases, packed with 5.7 tons of cocaine, valued at $100 million. The stash was supposed to have been delivered from Caracas to drug traffickers in Toluca, near Mexico City, Mexican prosecutors later found. Law enforcement officials also discovered something else.

The smugglers had bought the DC-9 with laundered funds they transferred through two of the biggest banks in the U.S.: Wachovia Corp. and Bank of America Corp., Bloomberg Markets magazine reports in its August 2010 issue.

This was no isolated incident. Wachovia, it turns out, had made a habit of helping move money for Mexican drug smugglers. Wells Fargo & Co., which bought Wachovia in 2008, has admitted in court that its unit failed to monitor and report suspected money laundering by narcotics traffickers -- including the cash used to buy four planes that shipped a total of 22 tons of cocaine.

The admission came in an agreement that Charlotte, North Carolina-based Wachovia struck with federal prosecutors in March, and it sheds light on the largely undocumented role of U.S. banks in contributing to the violent drug trade that has convulsed Mexico for the past four years.

So, I asked, "how did they turn around so quickly and so dramatically"?  Who aided them in this endeavor and why?  Rothschild came to mind based on the Queens knighting him and the family as well as Rothschilds minion in American, Alan Greenspan, who lead the fed into this great intentional path to destruction of the United States and other nations around the globe.  She stated as the reason she knighted him was for "his work for the bank of London" .   I could not understand that since the world economy was in the toilet, and going down fast, so it didn't make any sense "unless" that was the plan.   Then, indeed, he did his job brilliantly.  It also meant, the Queen was either a pawn of Rothschilds or vice versa.   It appears it is a little of both.

US won't destroy poppy fields In Afghanistan

Opium poppy fields in Afghanistan


NATO has rejected an appeal made by Russia for eradication of opium fields in Afghanistan, arguing that the sole source of income in the region cannot be removed.

Addressing a meeting of the NATO-Russia Council on Wednesday, head of Russia's Federal Drug Control Agency (FSKN) Victor Ivanov said "Afghan opiates led to the death of 1 million people by overdose in the last 10 years, and that is United Nations data. Is that not a threat to world peace and security?"

The Russian official tasked NATO forces with "normalizing the situation in Afghanistan" which includes "the elimination of drug production."

Meanwhile, NATO spokesman James Appathurai voiced understanding for Russian concerns, given the country's estimated 200,000 heroin and morphine addicts and the tens of thousands dying each year as a result of their addiction.

However, he went on to say that the Afghan drug problem had to be handled carefully in an effort to avoid alienating local residents.

"We share the view that it has to be tackled," the spokesman said. "But there is a slight difference of views," Appathurai added.

"We cannot be in a situation where we remove the only source of income for people who live in the second poorest country in the world without being able to provide them an alternative. That is simply not possible," the NATO official explained.

According to statistics provided by Ivanov, Russia was the single largest consumer of heroin in 2008. Moscow blames NATO for the surge in heroin trafficking from Afghanistan to Russia.

The production of opium in Afghanistan has skyrocketing since the US-led invasion of the country in 2001.

Northrop Grumman Awarded Phase Two Fiber Laser Contracts With DARPA

Vatic Note: Notice clearly it says "phase two fiber laser" contracts with DARPA. So, was the laser beam that took out the rig phase I, and now there is some evidence floating around that may have happened with 9-11.   I do not know that for sure so I didn't really put it up and point it out, but the insider who said 9-11 was a false flag also said it was done with space weapons, not planes.   In using the first phase on the Gulf Rig and "possibly" on 9-11, did they need to test it before proceeding to phase II? I find the timing of this very very interesting.  Or is it simply a different program and laser since we certainly have more than one and one type. Then we find out from Dr. Ott that first of all DARPA has other lasers in their stock of available space weapons. Where is this all going? Well, Dr. Ott references a very interesting project from 1966 that was proposed, and here is an excerpt from this blog on the subject:

This is back under Johnson and this is how they were talking then even in reports. We better start asking tough questions and seriously demanding answers from just about everyone from our congressmen to senators and the White House about the weapons technology we have and to ensure it is NEVER used against us, the people. Northrop Grumman has surpassed Phase I goals for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency's (DARPA) Revolution in Fiber Lasers (RIFL) program that seeks to mature fiber laser technology. As a result, the company has received a contract for Phase II.

"This is an important step in the maturation of fiber laser technology," said Dan Wildt, vice president of Directed Energy Systems for Northrop Grumman's Aerospace Systems sector. "By surpassing Phase I goals, we are in an excellent position for success in Phase II. Success in Phase II will create a powerful springboard for scaling fiber lasers to weapons-class performance levels."

With a 1 kilowatt (kW) single mode fiber amplifier, the company demonstrated a near-perfect beam quality of better than 1.2 and efficiency better than 30 percent, twice the program's goal of 15 percent.

Northrop Grumman also demonstrated a polarization extinction ratio of 50:1, and extremely low phase noise, which is essential for the coherent combination of laser chains used to scale power to weapons-class levels.

After recovering from the “news” that the new film Camp FEMA is somehow racist, I thought it might behoove me to take another look. Maybe the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) knows something I don’t about “racism.” After exploring their interesting site, it has become even more clear that they are not on the side of We-the-People. In fact, they may have been founded on some very sound principles, but their present-day agenda is profoundly more nefarious.

Indulge me for a minute please…my family has fought racism throughout our generations. My grandfather preached equality for all in churches in the South. How easy do you think that was to do? My parents did not allow us to use derogatory words, even going so far as to not allow us to use a person’s skin color to describe them. I am still scarred from a battle I had at a United Methodist church in Louisiana, as a seventeen-year old girl, trying to fight racism and politics. Did the Southern Poverty Law Center bother to ask me any questions? No, they didn’t. Believe me, growing up in the South in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s, I know a thing or two about racism!

Many news outlets use the Southern Poverty Law Center to comment on racial issues. There are several; CBS, FoxNews, CNN, the New York Times, Newsweek, the Washington Post, the Associated Press, and more. A group that focuses on hate, The SPLC issues quarterly “reports” about hate…groups, actions, people. In its Spring 2010 Intelligence Report, they claim to have identified 512 “Patriot” groups in the US. (What is wrong with a “Patriot” group?) In their defense, the SPLC does say that being categorized as a “patriot group” does not mean these “groups” advocate violence or hate. Why, then, list them at all? Are they trying to put something in the public’s mind about these “groups?”

The SPLC, the MIAC Report and the Federal government have perverted the true definition of patriot. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines a “patriot” as someone “who loves his or her country and supports its authority and interests.” The SPLC says that these groups “define themselves” as “opposed to the ‘New World Order,’ engage in groundless conspiracy theorizing, or advocate or adhere to extreme antigovernment doctrines.”

Shouldn’t Americans be opposed to a “New World Order”? A “New World Order” would be against our sovereignty as both a free country and free individuals. It has also been presented time and again by US officials, as well as foreign leaders, including Gordon Brown of England, who alluded to, and outright commented on, the New World Order many times. In 1991, Former President Bush, Sr. gave a speech in which we would be “forging for ourselves and others a New World Order,” where, oddly enough, he says the “rule of law” will govern. (VN:  well if it governs the way its been going, that means there will be only the rule of law for us and not those in control,  FORGET IT! NO NWO! )   He further talks about the United Nations. The United States has a great “Rule of Law,” the Constitution, yet our elected officials ignore, circumvent, and issue “Presidential Signing Statements” to avoid that law, and have, since the beginning of our country. This idea is not as far-fetched as the SPLC would have you believe and the SPLC would have you look the other way while they defame the true defenders of the “Rule of Law”.

The Hidden Of Genetic Manipulation - (Eugenics)

Vatic Note:   One aspect of the multilayered agenda of the elite is the depopulation and Eugenics funding and research that these families have been funding since the early 20's.   This will be one element in our strategy and tactics that we will have to address and fight.    We saw an example of this yesterday about the euthanasia of old people and severly handicapped and the poor.   Its a physical restructuring of society to produce the best physical specimens to handle hard labor and tasks requiring skills as well as physical stamina for long hours of such labor.   Further, they must be the least demanding on medical resources and health costs.  That also means correcting and eliminating any genetic connection to diseases.  (VN:  does that include inbreeding results from the 13 families???  If so  most of them would be gone by now, obviously from the results of their actions).   Another consideration will be who manages the mating of the cattle, who decides who marries or breeds with who.  Will there be DNA tests based on the needs of the elite society and thus special order such breeding for those results???  (Note worthy point:  This is the first time they have messed with my blogs in a couple of days,  hmmm,  guess this is something they don't want us talking about)

Vatic Note:  I had a hard time writing this vatic note this time.  So, I am trying again.  Why are they being treated with drugs that have been associated with suicides,  random unplanned acts of violence, and lone gunman murder?   Do I believe the gov and their masters and foreign occupiers are trying to weaken our military?  Yes, but why?  I don't know.   Speculation again would be as follows:   1.  The super highway has already been started once gain, resistance will be strong against it,  our military weakened could be an excuse to then bring in foreign troops since our military has already said it would not fire on American citizens.    2.  It could be to globalize all military with little or no resistance from US forces.    3.  It could be to prevent our military who are out of service from training our civilians in case of rebellion.   Its a guess, but its not because our military is humanitarian at the highest levels.... Gates proves that as does Petreas.    Your guess.  All I know is I am seeing more and more treason every day.    We have had record numbers of suicides in our military surpassing even the civilian rate which had never happened before.

At least one in six service members is on some form of psychiatric drug.   And many troops are taking more than one kind, mixing several pills in daily “cocktails” — for example, an antidepressant with an antipsychotic to prevent nightmares, plus an anti-epileptic to reduce headaches — despite minimal clinical research testing such combinations.

What Tea Party Congressmen Can Expect

Vatic Note: This is an excellent guide and a very good idea what to expect when you show up in place. Another thing you will see is noting the difference between a meeting of committees with both parties, and the caucuses for each party. Remember, they are different.

The caucuses are all about political issues for the party. You might get a valid and objective analysis on a bill that will hurt your party politically with your constituents, but is a favorite of the lobbyists that fund your party election committee through their PACS, and yet the caucuses will decide the parties position on the bill and a strategy for either defeating it or getting it rammed through depending on whether you are a majority party or minority. Each caucus does the same thing. At this point, IN THE CAUCUS, you share with the caucus what impact this will have on you personally as the rep and on your constituents to see if it matches the caucuses line of thinking on the bill.

If it doesn't then the caucus has the job of giving you cover to vote for it or to see to it that you are not hurt by the vote of the others. Maybe establishing a bogus resistance to the bill on the floor speeches and voting against it, but with leaderships permission. Then leadership has to go and drag over a republican in a safe seat to get you off the hook and then the caucus leaders cut thier own deals in return for that favor. Then the caucus owes the other caucus one for the road. Its pretty sleezy work.

Many with integrity cannot take the gamesmanship that goes on and finds it extremely dishonest and eventually quit. That is the shame of it since that leaves those who compromise in a gamesmanship way to be the only ones left to rule. That is bad because once you learn how to do that and justify it in your own mind, then its slippery road down hill into selling out your voters. It never starts intentionally, but it always ends up there.

Nine years ago this week Larry Silverstein and his partner, the former Israeli commando Frank Lowy, closed the deal on the 99-year lease of the World Trade Center.  Silverstein and Lowy, devoted agents of the state of Israel and its Zionist fund-raising organizations in New York, immediately had their leased WTC property and future rental earnings insured against a terror attack exactly like that which occurred only seven weeks later.   Having obtained the lease with borrowed funds, Silverstein promptly raised rents forty percent.

Unlike the Twin Towers, Larry Silverstein actually owned WTC 7, the 47-story building that fell straight down into its footprint at about 5:25 p.m. on 9-11, in what was clearly a controlled demolition.  All three towers demolished on 9-11 were under Silverstein's control and although he openly admitted on camera that he had decided to "pull" WTC 7, his revealing comments have never been investigated by the authorities of New York City or the federal government.    Whoever placed the super-thermite and other explosive charges in the Twin Towers probably did so during the seven weeks before 9-11, when Silverstein completely controlled access to the towers.  Apart from all the other questions, Silverstein has never been held to account for the fact that the escape doors to the roof of both towers had been locked.  Why were rooftop evacuations not attempted?

Just to emphasise an important point, the Gates Foundation invests in some other oil companies. Investments of the Gates Foundation range from anything like alcohol to other drugs. Greenpeace is still under the illusion that Gates actually fights against emissions. They confuse PR with reality and this new post is just embarrassing. My city feels like a crime scene and the criminals are all melting into the night, fleeing the scene. No, I’m not talking about the kids in black who smashed windows and burned cop cars on Saturday.

I’m talking about the heads of state who, on Sunday night, smashed social safety nets and burned good jobs in the middle of a recession. Faced with the effects of a crisis created by the world’s wealthiest and most privileged strata, they decided to stick the poorest and most vulnerable people in their countries with the bill.

How else can we interpret the G20’s final communiqué, which includes not even a measly tax on banks or financial transactions, yet instructs governments to slash their deficits in half by 2013. This is a huge and shocking cut, and we should be very clear who will pay the price: students who will see their public educations further deteriorate as their fees go up; pensioners who will lose hard-earned benefits; public-sector workers whose jobs will be eliminated. And the list goes on. These types of cuts have already begun in many G20 countries including Canada, and they are about to get a lot worse.

They are happening for a simple reason. When the G20 met in London in 2009, at the height of the financial crisis, the leaders failed to band together to regulate the financial sector so that this type of crisis would never happen again. All we got was empty rhetoric, and an agreement to put trillions of dollars in public monies on the table to shore up the banks around the world. Meanwhile the U.S. government did little to keep people in their homes and jobs, so in addition to hemorrhaging public money to save the banks, the tax base collapsed, creating an entirely predictable debt and deficit crisis.

At this weekend’s summit, Prime Minister Stephen Harper convinced his fellow leaders that it simply wouldn’t be fair to punish those banks that behaved well and did not create the crisis (despite the fact that Canada’s highly protected banks are consistently profitable and could easily absorb a tax). Yet somehow these leaders had no such concerns about fairness when they decided to punish blameless individuals for a crisis created by derivative traders and absentee regulators.

Last week, The Globe and Mail published a fascinating article about the origins of the G20. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/g8-g20/news/how-canada-made-the-g20-happen/article1609690/  It turns out the entire concept was conceived in a meeting back in 1999 between then finance minister Paul Martin and his U.S. counterpart Lawrence Summers (itself interesting since Mr. Summers was at that time playing a central role in creating the conditions for this financial crisis – allowing a wave of bank consolidation and refusing to regulate derivatives).

The two men wanted to expand the G7, but only to countries they considered strategic and safe. They needed to make a list but apparently they didn’t have paper handy. So, according to reporters John Ibbitson and Tara Perkins, “the two men grabbed a brown manila envelope, put it on the table between them, and began sketching the framework of a new world order.” Thus was born the G20.

The story is a good reminder that history is shaped by human decisions, not natural laws. Mr. Summers and Mr. Martin changed the world with the decisions they scrawled on the back of that envelope. But there is nothing to say that citizens of G20 countries need to take orders from this hand-picked club.

Already, workers, pensioners and students have taken to the streets against austerity measures in Italy, Germany, France, Spain and Greece, often marching under the slogan: “We won’t pay for your crisis.” And they have plenty of suggestions for how to raise revenues to meet their respective budget shortfalls.

Many are calling for a financial transaction tax that would slow down hot money and raise new money for social programs and climate change. Others are calling for steep taxes on polluters that would underwrite the cost of dealing with the effects of climate change and moving away from fossil fuels. And ending losing wars is always a good cost-saver.

The G20 is an ad hoc institution with none of the legitimacy of the United Nations. Since it just tried to stick us with a huge bill for a crisis most of us had no hand in creating, I say we take a cue from Mr. Martin and Mr. Summers. Flip it over, and write on the back of the envelope: Return to sender.

Death Squad Terror in Honduras

Vatic Note:  Here we are again with the Death squads as we were in Honduras managing them through Negroponte, in El Salvadore.  Remember that one?  They were killing priests and nuns back then, and we thought it was the Hondurans, but it was the death squads that CIA not only did but also trained from the right wing fascist side of the political spectrum.   Corporate puppets that wanted a handle on their natural resources of course.  Please keep this phrase in mind when you read this "THIS IS EXACTLY HOW A GLOBAL FASCIST ONE WORLD ORDER WILL OPERATE".  Once you keep that continually in your  mind, it will become clear those doing this expect to be the ones governing in this one world order.   We see how they treat others in areas under their control,  and the only reason they haven't done this to us on such a scale is because we are armed and are 300 million strong.  Its the only reason, but once they obtain control over us completely, what do you think they will do?  Yup, more of the same and this will be global.  So we have serious decisions to make between now and then when they are ready for the final hammer on us. 
Death Squad Terror in Honduras

On June 28, 2009, while he slept, dozens of Honduran soldiers stormed President Manuel Zelaya's residence, arrested him at gunpoint, and exiled him to Costa Rica, in violation of the 1982 Constitution, stating:

"No Honduran may be expatriated nor delivered by the authorities to a foreign state," nor may a democratically elected leader be deposed, evidence showing Washington's involvement and support, coordination handled by US Ambassador Hugo Llorens and Thomas Shannon, Jr., current US Ambassador to Brazil, then Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs.

In advance and thereafter, Washington choreographed the entire process, blamed Zelaya for his illegal removal, opposed his return, backed the coup d'etat regime and sham November 2009 election under martial law, elevating fascist Porfirio (Pepe) Lobo Sosa to the presidency on January 27, 2010, now the Obama administration's man in Honduras, succeeding interim leader, Roberto Micheletti.

Under him and Sosa, Hondurans have endured death squad terror at the hands of the military whose officers from captain on up have been trained for decades at the infamous School of the Americas (SOA), renamed the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHISEC), where they're taught the latest ways to kill, main, torture, oppress, exterminate poor and indigenous people, overthrow democratically elected governments, assassinate targeted leaders, suppress popular resistance, and work cooperatively with Washington to solidify fascist rule, intolerant of democratic freedoms or leaders not backing ruling class interests, using deep repression to enforce them.

Amnesty International (AI) Report on Honduras

Little has changed since AI published its August 2009 report titled, "Honduras: Human Rights Crisis Threatens as Repression Increases," explaining a systematic reign of terror post-coup against street protestors, human rights activists, journalists, unionists, campesinos, teachers, and anyone potentially threatening state authority.

Brutally repressive tactics have been used, including arbitrary arrests, kidnappings, suspension of civil liberties, martial law, indefinite detentions, beatings, torture, sodomizing men, gang-raping women, suppression of dissent, and death squad murders, at least 14 documented since Lobo took office, including nine journalists, placing all independent reporters at risk, international human rights groups calling Honduras the most dangerous country in the world for them, authorities prosecuting no one for the crimes.

According to Rights Action co-director Grahame Russell:  "....the Honduran regime speaks so derisively and cynically about grave human rights violations - including assassinations, illegal detentions, torture....(It) demonstrates the degree of impunity with which this regime operates."

The rule of law doesn't exist, (VN:  how could it when we don't have the rule of law here either) Washington a party to the worst human rights abuses and injustice, including repression, detentions, torture, land theft, and killings to keep ruling oligarchs in power, and popular resistance suppressed, but it persists.

Established after the coup, the National Front of Popular Resistance (FNRP) is a broad grassroots coalition of campesinos, human rights supporters, unionists, women, students, teachers, and others supporting democratic freedoms in Honduras, saying on its web site:

"One who remains silent in the face of injustice becomes its accomplice....A year old now, the Resistance has grown into a widespread political body (transitioning from short-term action to a) strategy to take power and change the country."

Last summer at "Station number 4," dozens of Hondurans were detained, including 10 or more students, one of them telling AI:   About 200 of them were marching peacefully. "The police were throwing stones, they rounded us up, they threw us face down on the ground and they beat us - there are people with fractures, with head wounds, they beat us on the buttocks. They stole our cameras, they beat us if we raised our heads, they beat us when they were getting us into police cars." (VN:  Sounds like the G-20 in Pennsylvania with a democratic Governor).

Others reported similar stories, evidence showing they were badly bruised, swollen, and cut. Two days after an El Duranzno demonstration, Roger Abraham Vallejo, a 38-year old teacher, died from a bullet wound to his head. A witness told AI:    "A patrol car was advancing toward the crowd, and as it turned round at speed....police....started to shoot...." Women were treated harshly like men, some sexually abused, police systematically using disproportionate force, in violation of international law standards to which Honduras is party, including the UN International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), affirming the "right to peaceful assembly," and prohibiting torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

In addition, Article 2 of the UN Code of Conduct for Law Enforcement Officials states:  "In the performance of their duty, law enforcement officials shall respect and protect human dignity and maintain and uphold the human rights of all persons."

Article 3 says "Law enforcement officials may use force only when strictly necessary and to the extent required for the performance of their duty," meaning only under extreme circumstances, never against peaceful protestors or persons posing no threat. Arbitrary arrests, detentions, beatings, torture, and other abuses are strictly prohibited.

Free expression, assembly and association are enshrined in human rights law. Yet Robert Barra, a Chilean independent photo-journalist told AI that police beat him and confiscated his camera while he was covering a peaceful protest. He was severely bruised and cut. Others were treated the same way, and media outlets like Radio Globo, Canal 36, Maya TV and Radio Progreso were taken off the air and shut down. Anyone suspected of threatening state authority faces recriminations, even death.

Rights Action Honduras Update

Published June 22, Grahame Russell calls Honduran repression "very bad," explaining that:  "The (Lobo) regime (has) implemented a policy of state repression (terror) - including the activation of paramilitary death squad groups, to threaten, intimidate, terrorize and kill members of the pro-democracy, anti-coup movement," and potentially anyone challenging state authority, Oscar Geovanny Ramirez, a 16-year old campesino, one of many.

During a violent June 20 joint police/military operation against the Aurora Cooperative of the Movimiento Unificado Campesino del Agua (MUCA), he was murdered. Five others were arrested.

Witnesses said police and the military arrived in two patrol cars, (one identified as the National Preventive Police), and opened fire at close range. Those arrested were charged with illegal weapons possession and conspiracy.

In December 2009, MUCA signed an agreement with Lobo to recover 11 thousand hectares of land. Objecting, powerful landowners used state security forces to intimidate, threaten, and persecute campesinos, killing eight.

The human rights organization advocating for the right to food, FIAN International, condemned the violence saying:

"We face the never ending story. The murders, persecution and various physical and psychological aggressions continue. When (MUCA) signed (its) agreement with (Lobo), understood was that the aggression by the police and armed individuals would end, but the actual facts disprove the belief."

Human rights expert, Dr. Juan Almendares, said:  "We are living in a state of terror. There is no security in the country....We are in a terrible economic, moral and political crisis....We don't have a democratic process. We have a military process....We have a very powerful oligarchy that is ruling the country with the army" and police - the poor, disadvantaged, and anyone challenging them subject to arbitrary arrest, detention or death.

It's reminiscent of Battalion 316, the CIA-created death squads that disappeared, tortured, and exterminated regime opponents in the 1980s. Reportedly, Billy Joya, a retired police captain, founder of Cobra (an elite Preventive Police hit squad), and one of 316's notorious members under the pseudonym "Mrs. Arrazola," returned from Spain to train soldiers how to terrorize and kill civilian freedom fighters - anyone for social justice and democracy, notions Honduras and Washington won't tolerate.

Since the June 2009 coup, the Committee for the Families of the Detained and Disappeared of Honduras (COFADEH) documented 47 assassinations, 14 since Lobo's January 28 inauguration. The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and Center for Justice and International Law voiced great alarm about ongoing state terror and lawlessness, authorities, of course, doing nothing to address or even recognize a problem.

On May 4, Lobo announced a "Truth Commission," what Rights Action called a "mockery of human rights & rule of law," COFADEH Director Berth Oliva wanting an independent one in her same day article titled, "A Real Truth Commission for Honduras," saying her "beloved and troubled country....desperately needs" it.

Lobo's Commission is a sham, human rights groups like Rights Action and COFADEH calling it a scheme to suppress truths and whitewash murder, mass detentions, torture, and other abuses. Under Lobo's repressive regime, it has no legitimacy, authorities not even acknowledging post-coup terror, ongoing and unabated.

In addition, the Commission was secretly formed with no public input, its members hand-picked to absolve state crimes so security forces can freely terrorize popular resistance with impunity.

The Platform of Human Rights Organizations of Honduras has an alternative proposal - an independent commission addressing ongoing human rights violations, using testimonies of victims - a Honduran Goldstone Commission, fully empowered to report the truth and recommend those responsible be held accountable for their crimes. However, given a repressive Washington/Honduran cabal against truth, human rights, and judicial fairness, sustained activism, and struggle is essential to achieve it.

A Final Comment

Hondurans have endured decades of repression, injustice, and poverty, the latter affecting almost 60% of the population. For over 36%, it's extreme. In addition, the Honduran Institute of Statistics reports unemployment in Honduras at 51%, mainly affecting young workers.

Yet last February, Lobo imposed regressive tax hikes, and 20% across-the-board spending cuts, what IMF and World Bank loans require, both agencies last March formally recognizing his government and unfreezing $194 million in funding, nearly 85% from the IMF.

Washington also restored over $30 million in aid, and at Secretary of State Clinton's urging, the Organization of American States may readmit Honduras, no matter its illegitimate government and draconian austerity against its poor and disadvantaged, measures the IMF and World Bank demand, ones European officials announced at the June G20 session, what economist Michael Hudson calls the "road to financial serfdom," the same one Obama's chosen to transform America into Honduras, complete with police state harshness.

Please take 5 minutes to say NO to the federal government’s plan to collect, control and own the DNA of every citizen, starting at birth.  (call or write anyway, even if it is past the deadline, I just got this sorry I couldn't get it out sooner)

TODAY, June 25th, is the last day to comment on the federal government’s plan to warehouse and use newborn citizen DNA without consent for government research, corporate research and other purposes.

Concerns about the government’s proposal, as stated in CCHC’s public comments to the federal government (U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services (HHS)), include:

• Fails to recommend informed written consent requirements for the storage and use of newborn DNA for research and other purposes.

• Asserts a public claim on the DNA of newborn citizens.

• Claims that newborn blood is necessary for “population surveillance.”

• Does not support the 22 state genetic privacy laws and the 5 state genetic ownership laws.

• Does not include compelling statistics from the Univ. of Michigan study that found the public appalled by unconsented government storage and research (p. 12).

• Recommends parent education instead of informed parent consent requirements that would enforce such education.

• Claims that state screening programs are charged with “stewardship” of newborn DNA samples—‘ensuring appropriate use’—when they are actually charged with simply testing each newborn.

• Fails to acknowledge the constitutional Fourth Amendment genetic privacy and property rights of individuals.

BP Lies While the Gulf Dies

As of Saturday afternoon, May 29th, ten oil spill clean-up workers had been admitted to West Jefferson Medical Center (WJMC) in Marrero, Louisiana. All but two have been hospitalized suffering from chest pains, dizziness, headaches and nausea. One crewmember admitted on the 29th had fallen and hit his head on a stair after a wave mixed with oil had washed onto a deck, hospital spokesperson Taslin Alonzo told me. The other, who was working on what Alonzo called “an oil rig,” was suffering from hypertension. All crewmembers hospitalized have long experience working on the water, according to Alonzo.

The two crewmembers hospitalized on May 28th had been working on the water about an hour south of Venice, Louisiana near where oil burns have been conducted, according to Alonzo. The workers complained of breathing fumes from oil burning the day before, she said, and they also believed they’d been sprayed with chemical dispersant.

Emergency room doctors thought these symptoms could result from dehydration. “They’ve been out working 20 to 30 days in a row,” she said. But the thought was, Alonzo said, that the symptoms were caused by some kind of chemical irritant. When asked if the hospital tested incoming cases like these for evidence of chemical exposure, Alonzo told me that it doesn’t. “We just treat the symptoms,” she said.

As of Sunday morning May 30th, the Deepwater Horizon Incident Joint Information Center (JIC) had issued no notice of the response workers hospitalized on the 29th. But the JIC announced via press release on the evening of the 28th that two crewmen from two controlled burn fleet vessels were being medevaced after experiencing chest pains.

“At the time of the medical emergencies, there was no controlled burning of oil being conducted. The two vessels were actively searching for oil concentrations for future burns….Aerial dispersants have been used in the area of the burn fleet, but as per safety restrictions, no dispersants are deployed within two miles of any vessel or platform,” says the JIC press release.

Yet at a May 28th press briefing, BP COO Doug Sutttles announced that thirteen controlled burns had taken place that day. And according to the JIC, between May 26 and 29, total dispersant use increased from more than 840,000 to 910,000 gallons - over 30,000 of which were applied on the surface.

When I called the JIC on the 29th for further details of the medical evacuation, BP spokesperson John Curry told me, “No one had been medevac’d on Friday” and that “no helicopter was involved.” But West Jefferson Medical Center spokesperson Alonzo emailed me shortly thereafter saying of the oil spill responders hospitalized Friday, “They were brought by helicopter.”

Vatic Note:  Someone seriously needs to go to jail over this spill and if this other one goes and nothing is done, then the rule of law is definitely gone.  That means the only option left to the people is vigilantism.  Not a good option.  But better than anarchy at the top destroying every living thing on the planet.   NO more unsafe rigs.  I would like to see Goldman Sachs in the prison pinstripes instead of their 2500 dollar pinstripe suits.  Let them live in the privatized prison system they helped to create, now that would be justice.  lol

Concerns over another BP oil rig in the Gulf

(CNN) - Could things get any worse for BP? Maybe. As the oil continues to flow, some are charging that another BP operation in the Gulf is an even bigger disaster in the making.

For six months, Ken Abbott managed BP’s engineering documents for "Atlantis," BP’s deep water platform nearly 200 miles south of New Orleans. He turned into a BP whistle-blower in February 2009 after finding what he says were thousands of Atlantis engineering documents and drawings that were neither complete nor reviewed properly by BP. That, Sawyer now says, was a serious safety violation.

Abbott and his lawyer quickly hired Mike Sawyer, a safety engineer consultant, who examined the BP documents in question. Sawyer tells CNN that oil rig “engineering drawings and specification are the primary means that workers use to ensure that they can operate the platform safely, and can ensure that they can shut it down or at least control any unsafe event.” Atlantis’ engineering documents and drawings, says Sawyer, were so incomplete that he fears another environmental disaster from BP.

Abbott shared his information with Arizona Rep. Raul Grijalva, who found it so disturbing that he and 18 other lawmakers sent a letter to the Department of the Interior and the Minerals Management Service (MMS), the agency that regulates the oil industry.

"...This platform [Atlantis],” they wrote, “may be operating without crucial engineering documents, which, if absent, would increase the risk of a catastrophic accident..."

BP told us in a statement it conducted its own investigation after Abbott filed a false claims lawsuit in 2009. The government declined to join that lawsuit. A few weeks ago, a judge ordered the case to go forward.

BP still insists though "Atlantis ... absolutely is safe..."

But, that's not enough any more. The consumer advocacy group Food and Water Watch posted this Web ad after joining forces with Abbott. Together, they've filed a lawsuit against MMS for failing to provide proof Atlantis is "absolutely safe."

Food and Water Watch’s Wenohah Hauter says, “BP Atlantis should be shut down until the safety information can be verified ... [and] there should be an investigation of all the operating platforms, beginning with BP’s, to be sure that their safety information is available and is in order.”

But the Obama administration – and MMS – have no plans to order Atlantis to halt operations. MMS now says it has “launched its own investigation into safety operations on the Atlantis..."

A congressional committee will hold hearings on this matter June 17th. Sawyer will brief lawmakers. Whistle-blower Ken Abbott will be in Washington too, testifying in front of a congressional committee about his concerns that Atlantis is not safe.
