Focus hard on this shocking Wall Street reality: The top six bank holding companies earned an aggregate of $51 billion in pretax income in 2009. We're talking about JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and Wells Fargo.
All of this pretax income can be attributed to their trading revenues of $59.7 billion. The proprietary trading operations of an oligopoly of banks, saved from disaster by Uncle Sam's largesse and subsidized with cheap money from the central bank, was the single driving force behind the restoration of their fortunes and the renewed surge in their stock prices.
For those willing to go long when the outlook was the bleakest, they've banked a double in JPMorgan Chase, scored a quadruple in Citigroup and nearly a quintuple in BofA.
Some of the other 980 bank holding companies--like Bank of New York Mellon, PNC Financial Services, U.S. Bancorp and M&T Bank--lost an aggregate of $19 billion for the 2009 year. Bank of New York Mellon had the seventh-largest trading revenue--it was just 1.6% of the total. By comparison, Goldman Sachs had 36.2%, Bank of America 18.8%, JPMorgan Chase 15.4%, Morgan Stanley 11.3%, Citigroup 6.9% and Wells Fargo 4.2%.

Even more fascinating for public policy reasons, Goldman Sachs' trading revenue was 119% of its own pretax income. Bank of America's trading was 262.8% of its pretax income and Morgan Stanley's trading was an incredible 849.4% of its pretax income.

Trading profits--better known in the proposed financial reform legislation as proprietary or "prop"--trading are the target of former Fed chief Paul Volcker's crusade to prohibit or severely limit bank holding companies that have public deposits from this speculative activity.
Wall Street's gravy train is in danger of being hijacked. Investors beware; the Volcker rule is the single biggest threat to the share price of the oligopoly. Another threat is the cap on future growth of the oligopoly.

The bill requires Federal Reserve approval for bank holding companies with assets over $50 billion before they can acquire a wide range of other nonbank financial companies, like asset managers with more than $10 billion in assets. Just how big a threat is clear from first-quarter 2010 earnings: Trading revenue at Goldman Sachs increased by 61% to $9 billion; Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase saw their trading revenue more than double from 2009.
Even more amazing, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase did not lose money during any single trading session of the 2010 first quarter. This astonishing performance underscores the casino the oligopoly has become. It bears testament to the payoff from the Wall Street bailout of 2008, which resulted in the elimination of competition and the concurrent strengthening of the few giants left standing.
They have taken advantage of their opportunity to grow more powerful by absorbing crippled institutions like Merrill Lynch and Wachovia. JPM's trading revenue is up 127% over a year ago; Morgan Stanley's is up 176%. Citigroup's and Wells Fargo's revenues from trading are down roughly 30% each.
Public policy has benefited the oligopoly at the cost of hurting some of the other 980 bank holding companies in the nation. The financial overhaul bill unfairly penalizes any bank with more than $50 billion--even if it is a retail bank serving Main Street, making loans to small business and mortgages to ordinary people, not billionaire hedge fund managers.

It's just plain unfair to subsidize the oligopoly while penalizing the regional banks with a tax to prepare for the next too-big-to-fail episode. Because sooner or later a member of the oligopoly is going to climb out on a limb and need rescuing.
Maybe the price-earnings multiple and the premium over book value for this oversized oligopoly should be penalized by the marketplace. Burst the potential bank bubble now.

The 2010 Bilderberg agenda has been revealed by veteran Bilderberg sleuth Jim Tucker and it paints a picture of crisis for the globalists, who are furious at the increased exposure their gatherings have received in recent years, as well as being dismayed at their failure to rescue both the euro and the failing carbon tax agenda, but more alarmingly according to Tucker, the majority of Bilderberg members are now in favor of military air strikes on Iran.
American Free Press muckraker Tucker has proven routinely accurate with the information he obtains from sources inside Bilderberg, which makes this year’s revelations all the more intriguing.
According to Tucker, Bilderberg luminaries are dismayed at the fact that “many important people” are not attending this year because, due to increasing exposure, invitees are “getting in trouble at home” and constituents are embarrassing them by asking irate questions such as “what are you doing with these monsters?”
“All these people are exposing us, we get all this mail and calls,” Tucker paraphrased Bilderberg members as complaining.
This dovetails with the revelations overheard by Guardian journalist Charlie Skelton at the Hotel Dolce Sitges before the meeting began when he heard conference organizers lamenting the fact that protest numbers are growing at Bilderberg events each year and that they represent a “threat” to Bilderberg’s agenda.
In addition, prominent Bilderberg Zbigniew Brzezinski, the man who warned recently that a “global political awakening” was threatening to derail the move towards global government, was expected to be in attendance at this year’s meeting.
Tucker named his source as an international financial consultant who personally knows Bilderberg members and has done business with them for the past 20 years.
Turning to Iran, Tucker said that many Bilderberg members, including Brzezinski, were in favor of U.S. air strikes on Iran and were “leaning towards war,” although 100 per cent of members were not supportive of an attack.
“Some of them in Europe are saying no we shouldn’t do it but most of them are in favor of American air strikes on Iran,” said Tucker, adding, “They’re tilting heavily towards green lighting a U.S. attack on Iran.”
An attack on Iran would provide a welcome distraction to the globalists’ failings in other areas and would also allow them to war profiteer, pointed out Tucker.
On the subject of the euro, Tucker said that the Bilderberg elitists were determined to save the single currency even as it collapsed to a new 4-year-low at $1.19 against the dollar yesterday afternoon. As we have highlighted, the globalists are panicking at the euro’s fall and the ECB keeps intervening to try and hasten its decline. If the euro were to cease to exist, it would all but derail the ultimate agenda for a global currency because the perceived stability of using one currency for a plethora of nations would be discredited.
“The euro is important because it’s part of their world government program, they’re very downbeat because they’ve fallen so far behind,” said Tucker, explaining that the globalists had planned by now to have the European Union, the American Union and the Asia-Pacific Union already up and running.
With regard to the climate change agenda, on which subject Microsoft founder Bill Gates was personally invited to the conference to discuss, Tucker said that Bilderberg were still intent on pushing it in pursuit of a carbon tax despite the fact that the whole move was massively eviscerated in the aftermath of the Climategate scandal.
Tucker quoted one Bilderberg member as all but admitting defeat on the mission to hoodwink the public into paying taxes in the name of fighting global warming.
“On climate change, we’re about whipped,” said one of the elitists in attendance.
However, Tucker said that the globalists were working on putting out more climate change propaganda “even as we speak”.
On the issue of the BP oil spill, the Bilderbergers made it clear that President Obama’s apparent “outrage” at BP and his threat of criminal procedures against the company was an little more than an act and that British Petroleum, who have been represented at Bilderberg meetings in the past by people like Peter Sutherland, former non-executive chairman of BP, were still “one of our brothers,” according to the elitists.
The future of oil prices are always an important topic to Bilderberg and the leaks Tucker and other investigators relayed from previous Bilderberg meetings were proven accurate when oil prices hit $150 a barrel in 2008, which was precisely what Bilderberg had called for.
“Gas prices are going to be nice and cheap this summer,” said Tucker, adding that they would start to rise again to the $4 a gallon level around November when artificial scarcity is created.
On the march towards anti-democratic global government, Bilderberg members stated that America must be “Europeanized” and turned into a giant socialist welfare state with health rationing and higher income taxes.
Tucker said hat Bilderberg were intent on mandating a bank tax paid directly to the IMF to fund global governance and a global treasury department under the IMF, and that this would then merely be passed on to the consumer.
In summary, Tucker said that this year’s conference was the most downbeat and pessimistic Bilderberg meeting in history, with massive exposure of their agenda acting as a roadblock to the ultimate goal of an authoritarian world government run by the elite, for the elite.
Vatic Note: Now is the time to talk about how we can continue to put the pressure on them, so lets look at some serious options by category:
SOLUTIONS:
1. The Bilderberg Itself: Ok, lets keep the pressure on. Lets call these members on our list at Chase bank and Goldman Sachs and politicians from our congress etc. and tell them to prosecute the Bilderbergs when they try to attend any meetings in the US. Call senators, and congressmen and keep pushing, especially Texas where Perry is a big mover for them with the super highway.
2. The Euro: How can we push the Euro down? Someone with more expertise in this area would be welcome to submit suggestions how we as a nation of people can thwart their plans for the Euro. I keep thinking of those countries in Europe who have helped that to happen, so Greece and Germany and Portugal etc are the ones contributing to that lowering, germany has reinstituted its marks instead of the Euro, so something is falling apart there. I just read that Iran traded in billions in Euros from their oil bourse for Gold and that has hurt the Euro tremendously and I suspect that is why some of the GLOBALISTS want to attack Iran and steal that gold from them and take pressure off of the Euro, so lets think on this one.
3. Attacking Iran: When we call our congressmen and senators, lets make sure we tell them NO ATTACK ON IRAN OR WE WILL REFUSE TO FIGHT in any wars anymore. Service families, tell you sons, daughters, spouses, brothers, sisters, DO NOT FIGHT IN THIS WAR they will start. ITS CRITICAL THAT WE DO NOT COOPERATE NOW. We can bring them down by withdrawing our cooperation in these wars. It is something WE CAN DO, as we are always screaming "What can I do, I am just one person", well this is one thing we can and must do, and that will aid in stopping their profiteering through the blood of our children and wealth of our nation. IT MUST BE MADE CLEAR TO OUR REPS THAT WE WILL NOT COOPERATE AT ALL. Israel's children are sitting in jail on principle against fighting and harming anyone else, we must have the same attitude.
4. The Gulf: Lets try to contact some of these companies who say they can fix the problem, like the UAE and ask them to do it and that we will pay them when we take back control of our gov and bill BP for all their costs, and if they don't pay, we confiscate their rigs in the Gulf since they are still pumping oil, and give them to the UAE to continue and as payment for their work. Any better suggestions are welcome, but right now we the people have to assert ourselves in ways that work without resorting to the last resort.
5. Gun Control: You heard tucker, the Bilderbergs want the US to enforce the treaty that Obama signed for gun control globally. We need to tell our senate not to approve the treaty or there will be a revolution since with this group of murderers it would be silly to leave ourselves unable to defend ourselves and our land. Tell them WE WILL NOT GIVE UP ANY GUNS TO ANYONE WITHOUT A FIGHT.

"Congratulations!" grinned the man in charge of this year's Bilderberg conference, mustering as much sarcasm as a Dutchman could muster.
"You are the last guests here! You should have a banner!" he whooped, punching the air, wanting us gone. It's true – we had been dragging our heels as we left the Hotel Dolce Sitges. The folding tables were already being set up in the courtyard for participant lanyards and orientation packs. It was well past the midday "lockdown" of the hotel.
"Lockdown" at Bilderberg means that security is snapped securely shut – it means an unbreachable, Pentagon-like security cordon is tightened around this seaside hotel. (VN: They will get LOCKDOWN soon if they keep this up and it won't be near as pleasant, remind them of the Nuremberg trials, if they are lucky)
It means that hundreds (and I mean hundreds) of police, in various states of riot readiness, position themselves at every junction, every roundabout, along every road, layby and dirt track within a mile of the building. And every 15 minutes or so, ruining everyone's poolside naps, police choppers circle in the perfect sky above.
The helicopters started yesterday. The day before, as we were checking in, a couple of tourists in microlights came buzzing over the hotel before buzzing off towards the beach. For about two seconds, I thought: "Brilliant! That's how we're going to get photos! From the air!" Then I thought: "CIA snipers! Not so brilliant!".

So I guess our government is colluding with BP to destroy our food and water. Makes you wonder exactly where this is all suppose to lead once the full contaminationof these waters, marsh lands, and inland waters are done. I read that the objective is to make it impossible to breath with that combination of oil and toxic disbursements and that was the reason they used them. If so, this is beyond crimes against humanity, its literally undescribable what we would call this kind of intentional work.
There is another post coming up here on how Campbell offered their expertise in the underwater robots at that depth, and it was ignored by both the White House and the BP people. The police in El Salvador have begun an investigation into whether a man suspected of leading a trafficking ring involving Central American and Caribbean women and girls is also a legal adviser to the Americans charged with trying to take 33 children out of Haiti without permission.
When the judge presiding over the Haitian case learned on Thursday of the investigation in El Salvador, he said he would begin his own inquiry of the adviser, a Dominican man who was in the judge’s chambers days before.
The inquiries are the latest twist in a politically charged case that is unfolding in the middle of an earthquake disaster zone. A lawyer for the group has already been dismissed after being accused of trying to offer bribes to get the 10 Americans out of jail.
The adviser, Jorge Puello, said in a telephone interview on Thursday that he had not engaged in any illegal activity in El Salvador and that he had never been in the country. He called it a case of mistaken identity. “I don’t have anything to do with El Salvador,” he said, suggesting that his name was as common in Latin America as John Smith is in the United States.
“There’s a Colombian drug dealer who was arrested with 25 IDs, and one of them had my name,” he said, not elaborating.

We are now in a position to change history. . Finally I believe that humanity has a future. A population at a demoralized and without purpose is emerging from a long sleep. A crew is installing a seven-ton, 26-foot-tall concrete sculpture of an Egyptian god at the airport. Anubis, a statue with a jackal-head, will be built south of the Jeppesen Terminal.

It is an exhibition of royal artifacts thousands of years in the making and it's never been seen in Denver before and will never be again --

One of the biggest sculptures from a new exhibit of ancient Egypt was unveiled Wednesday at the airport to kickoff the event. In a mere 27 days Denver will go Tut crazy. The installation of the 7-ton, 26-foot tall statue of Anubis took place at the south end of the DIA terminal. Anubis was the ancient Egyptian god of the afterlife.
"It's an exhibition of about 100 objects, both from King Tut's tomb, and 2,000 years of ancient Egyptian history. And it really walks people through what pharaohs' life was like, what families' life was like; and then you'll actually go down some stairs and into a space that's basically a replicated tomb of King Tutankhamun and see about 50 or so objects from the King's tomb," Kristy Bassuener with the Denver Art Museum said.
The polyurethane and steel structure took some time and effort to build. The wind blew it around and a crane got stuck in the gravel, but Anubis would not be denied. "These objects are incredibly important. They very rarely travel outside of Egypt. They are priceless treasures from long ago," Bassuener said. "This is the first time King Tut's treasures have ever been to the Rocky Mountain region."
And now with Anubis in place the countdown begins toward a 6-month, once-in-a-lifetime exhibit filled with treasures never before seen and never to be seen again. The statue of Anubis is right in front of the windows at the south end of the main terminal at DIA. The exhibit opens on June 29 and runs through Jan. 9.

The former director of B'nai Brith Quebec has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges after agreeing to a plea bargain.
The former director of B’nai Brith Quebec, Bill Surkis, has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges after agreeing to a plea bargain.
Surkis and his wife made a brief appearance at the Montreal courthouse Wednesday morning
In return for a guilty plea to charges of possessing and accessing child pornography, the Crown dropped a charge of distributing child pornography, said prosecutor Cynthia Gyenizse.
Explicit files were discovered on Surkis’ computer when he brought it in for repairs in 2008.
The technician contacted police after 86 videos and 153 photos were found, including images of girls aged six to 12 years.
Surkis’s lawyer had previously said he would argue the videos were downloaded as part of research Surkis was undertaking.
“The purpose of his viewing the child pornography material [was] to educate himself on the topic of child pornography,” lawyer Steven Slimovitch told CBC News outside court in November 2009. “Then he would go into schools and give lectures on people abusing people.”
But, prosecutors said there was no evidence of that. Surkis had not been hired anywhere to research child pornography and had not begun work on a study, they said.
Surkis’s admission of guilt came as a surpise to those who knew the man who also served as the Academic Dean at John Abbott College for 22 years. He had also served as the executive director of the Holocaust Centre in Montreal.
“Shocking a person like that you hold in high esteem,” said one woman who attended proceedings at the Montreal courthouse.
“The shock is how come it was in the closet for so long,” said another man.
Surkis now faces a minimum sentence of three months behind bars.
He is due back in court Sept. 27.
In the meantime, Surkis remains free on very strict conditions. The father and grandfather was ordered to stay away from anyone under the age of 18 in private locations unless another adult, who was aware of the charges against him, was present.
He was also forbidden from accessing the Internet unless it was for work. In such cases, he was prohibited from erasing the web history from his computer. Surkis was also barred from leaving the province while he awaits sentencing.

Vatic Note: This is the problem when a nation does not play fair within the international community. If SA had not rejected the ownership of those nukes, who knows what Mugbe type leaders might have done by now with such power. Its literally a risk the world cannot take. As it is with Israel we are still dealing with the "Sampson Option" and the gulf is just a small sample of what that could do to us if done on a global scale. Right now, we still have not absorbed the impact, as a nation of what BP did and the serious harm to our country. Once that is realized, it will hit us hard the consequences of our silence, ignorance and the life threatening ability of these foreign corporations to destroy us with just one explosion on a strategic level. They are now acting and becoming full fledged "countries" with their own weapons of mass destruction and their own foreign policy, their own private armies now, like Blackwater, and they are being shoved down everyones throat. That is the results of too much power concentrated in the hands of too few people. Time to take that power back again, until we can get some "humans" running those companies with a sense of serious responsibility.

Zoabi accused the government during the parliamentary discussion of treating the Israel Navy's bloody raid of a Turkish-flagged ship as a "pirate military operation".
She demanded ministers explain why the soldiers had been ordered to confiscate reporters' cameras and why the government had refused to allow the media to publish pictures of the nine people who were killed on board the ship.
Zoabi called on the government to open a national panel of inquiry into the incident, and asked why it was so opposed to international calls for an impartial and external probe.
Meanwhile, MK Miri Regev (Likud) accused Zoabi of being "responsible for a double crime: Joining terrorists, and a moral crime against the state of Israel." Regev then called at her in Arabic: "Go to Gaza, you traitor."
"She sat here over a year ago and pledged allegiance to the state of Israel and its laws," Regev claimed. "I have no intention of stifling free speech, but in the case of MK Zoabi - it is not freedom of speech. The Gaza flotilla was a terrorist flotilla and MK Zoabi needs to be punished. We don't need Trojan horses in the Knesset."
Hadash-Ta'al MK Mohammed Barakeh called the Israeli government "a gang of pirates" during the discussion, saying "you are crazy - you swim against the world and harm your nation, driving it down the drain."
"The two people responsible for the crime ran out of the room," said Barake regarding Netanyahu and Barak. "We stand behind our friend Mohammed Zeidan, the head of the Arab Higher Monitoring Committee, and of course our friend MK Hanin Zoabi, we see their acts as noble deeds."
In response, MK Regev yelled at Barke "hypocrite, traitor." MK Ben Ari (National Union) also confronted Barake calling: "Where is Gilad Shalit? Traitor, your day will come."
A number of Knesset members announced their intention to demand an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the violent confrontations during the IDF's raid on the Gaza aid convoy.
Meanwhile, the political-security cabinet convened Wednesday for the second round of talks regarding the raid on the Gaza aid flotilla and the massive international condemnation it garnered.
The ministers were expected to discuss the option of erecting an inquiry committee to investigate Monday's bloodshed, after the United States and the European Union have urged Israel to conducts an in depth inquiry on the events.
Netanyahu's advisers Yitzhak Molcho and defense adviser Uzi Arad were in Washington for a second day of talks with White House officials over the possibility of erecting an official inquiry committee with U.S. help, as well as the future of the siege on Gaza.
A top official in Jerusalem said that Israel was interested in reaching an agreement and understanding with the U.S. over the investigation committee to gain international public approval when the final decision is made.
The U.S. wants an international body to be involved in the investigation committee, and has offered to send officials to take part in the probe in order to increase the results' reliability.
Israel has not yet made an official decision on the matter.

The ministers were expected to discuss the option of erecting an inquiry committee to investigate Monday's bloodshed, after the United States and the European Union have urged Israel to conducts an in depth inquiry on the events.
Netanyahu's advisers Yitzhak Molcho and defense adviser Uzi Arad were in Washington for a second day of talks with White House officials over the possibility of erecting an official inquiry committee with U.S. help, as well as the future of the siege on Gaza.
A top official in Jerusalem said that Israel was interested in reaching an agreement and understanding with the U.S. over the investigation committee to gain international public approval when the final decision is made.
The U.S. wants an international body to be involved in the investigation committee, and has offered to send officials to take part in the probe in order to increase the results' reliability.
Israel has not yet made an official decision on the matter.

On Sunday the Israeli Naval Forces seized a Flotilla of six ship carrying humanitarian supplies to the people of Gaza known as the Free Gaza Flotilla. Israel has a blockade forbidden the transport of supplies into Gaza. Israeli forced boarded the ships after they refused to change course. While the crew of the Flotilla expected the possibility of being reprimanded by Israeli forces they did not expect that it would cost them their lives. An estimated 16 casualties have been reported and over 60 were injured. There were eleven US Citizens on the ship including Edward Peck former Ambassador to Iraq and Mauritania, Joe Meadors a USS Liberty Survivor, Huwaida Arraf co-founder of the International Solidarity Movement, and Hedy Epstein a Holocaust Survivor. The mainstream media has covered has not reported on the fact that Epstein is a Holocaust Survivor considering they usually bring up of the Holocaust when it suits their political objectives.

Vatic Note: My only comment is I agree with the Intel Hub, this could be any number of manipulated ploys, so you have read this yourself and decide. I am now wondering, Rahm Met with Netanyahuie a few days before the humanitarian project arrived in Israel. Was that a distraction to keep us from focusing on what we were talking about this before the humanitarian issue arose. They are probably going to crash the economy or start a damn war or something that killing 20 people justified who were unarmed and innocent. A prominent Chabad rabbi is seeking to clarify remarks in which he renounced “Western morality” and seemed to call on Israel to massacre Palestinian civilians.
“The only way to fight a moral war is the Jewish way,” wrote Rabbi Manis Friedman in the current issue of Moment magazine. “Destroy their holy sites. Kill men, women and children (and cattle).”
Friedman’s comments were a response to the question “How Should Jews Treat Their Arab Neighbors?” The question was posed to rabbis of several denominations, and the Friedman response was identified as “Chabad.”
