Vatic Note:   These are put up to always remind us how the horrors of WW II happened and to remind us that we must never let that happen again.   While our own lives are a mess right now in this country, at least we are not under attack at the same level these people are right now.   Israel's military has just entered into Gaza and we have no idea what is going on in there as we see these photos to remind us what probably is going on in there.   You would think with their memories they would be the first ones to abhor this behavior, but then, who knows anymore. The pics on the left side are of Nazi Germany and the camp prisoners, and on the right Palestinians who are now in a giant concentration camp.   If you wish to see better pictures than these,   simply hit on the link below, they are bigger and better quality, but they had to be shown so I put them up anyway.

According to Israeli press, police arrested six men in northern Israel Tuesday, in a crack-down on illegal human organ trafficking.

Police had launched an investigation after receiving a number of complaints from people who had responded to a newspaper ad saying respondents would be paid $100,000 for a kidney. The respondents participated, giving up a kidney in surgery completed out of Israel, but when they returned home, they were not paid.

The investigation culminated in a raid which resulted in the arrests of an Israeli reserve Brigadier General along with two lawyers. Police said they uncovered a large operation at work in Israel, one that takes advantage of people experiencing kidney problems as well as people with financial difficulties. The traffickers are charging donees around $120,000 for a kidney, and while they promise organ donors $100,000, they are only paying a fraction of the money promised, if they receive any payment at all.

Israel only allows voluntary organ donations, having ended the system of payments for organs in 2008 in a bid to end organ trafficking. Donors are taken out of Israel for surgery, and some donors are suffering the effects of substandard surgery.

The arrested Brigadier General is 62 year old Meir Zamir, who received a medal for valour for his actions in the Yom Kippur war. It is not known what charges the six men were arrested on.

Police said the organ traffickers were making millions from their scheme. Israel has been a home for organ traffickers for years, although the trade is now widespread around the world.

The United Nations estimates that between 3,400 to 6,800 kidney transplants each year are from forced transplants, but say that estimate is likely low.

In 2009, the FBI smashed an American-run organ trafficking ring in New Jersey that included several Rabbis. 44 people were arrested in the sting operation. The high profile New Jersey bust included several mayors and two assemblymen: Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano III, Secaucus Mayor Dennis Elwell, Jersey City Deputy Mayor Leona Beldini, state Assemblyman L. Harvey Smith and state Assemblyman Daniel Van Pelt.

The biggest human rights scandal in years is developing in Colombia, though you wouldn’t notice it from the total lack of media coverage here. The largest mass grave unearthed in Colombia was discovered by accident last year just outside a Colombian Army base in La Macarena, a rural municipality located in the Department of Meta just south of Bogota.

The grave was discovered when children drank from a nearby stream and started to become seriously ill. These illnesses were traced to runoff from what was discovered to be a mass grave — a grave marked only with small flags showing the dates (between 2002 and 2009) on which the bodies were buried.

According to a February 10, 2010 letter issued by Alexandra Valencia Molina, Director of the regional office of Colombia’s own Procuraduria General de la Nacion — a government agency tasked to investigate government corruption — approximately 2,000 bodies are buried in this grave. The Colombian Army has admitted responsibility for the grave, claiming to have killed and buried alleged guerillas there. However, the bodies in the grave have yet to be identified. Instead, against all protocol for handling the remains of anyone killed by the military, especially those of guerillas, the bodies contained in the mass grave were buried there secretly without the requisite process of having the Colombian government certify that the deceased were indeed the armed combatants the Army claims.

And, given the current “false positive” scandal which has enveloped the government of President Alvaro Uribe and his Defense Minister, Juan Manuel Santos, who is now running to succeed Uribe as President, the Colombian Army’s claim about the mass grave is especially suspect. This scandal revolves around the Colombian military, most recently under the direction of Juan Manuel Santos, knowingly murdering civilians in cold blood and then dressing them up to look like armed guerillas in order to justify more aid from the United States. According to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pilay, this practice has been so “systematic and widespread” as to amount to a “crime against humanity.” And sadly, when Ms. Pilay made this statement, she literally did not know the half of it.

To date, not factoring in the mass grave, it has been confirmed by Colombian government sources that 2,000 civilians have fallen victim to the “false positive” scheme since President Uribe took office in 2002. If, as suspected by Colombian human rights groups, such as the “Comision de Derechos Humanos del Bajo Ariari” and the “Colectivo Orlando Fals Borda,” the mass grave in La Macarena contains 2,000 more civilian victims of this scheme, then this would bring the total of those victimized by the “false positive” scandal to at least 4,000 –much worse than originally believed.

George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld covered up that hundreds of innocent men were sent to the Guantánamo Bay prison camp because they feared that releasing them would harm the push for war in Iraq and the broader War on Terror, according to a new document obtained by The Times.

The accusations were made by Lawrence Wilkerson, a top aide to Colin Powell, the former Republican Secretary of State, in a signed declaration to support a lawsuit filed by a Guantánamo detainee. It is the first time that such allegations have been made by a senior member of the Bush Administration.

Colonel Wilkerson, who was General Powell’s chief of staff when he ran the State Department, was most critical of Mr Cheney and Mr Rumsfeld. He claimed that the former Vice-President and Defence Secretary knew that the majority of the initial 742 detainees sent to Guantánamo in 2002 were innocent but believed that it was “politically impossible to release them”.

General Powell, who left the Bush Administration in 2005, angry about the misinformation that he unwittingly gave the world when he made the case for the invasion of Iraq at the UN, is understood to have backed Colonel Wilkerson’s declaration.

Colonel Wilkerson, a long-time critic of the Bush Administration’s approach to counter-terrorism and the war in Iraq, claimed that the majority of detainees — children as young as 12 and men as old as 93, he said — never saw a US soldier when they were captured. He said that many were turned over by Afghans and Pakistanis for up to $5,000. Little or no evidence was produced as to why they had been taken.

He also claimed that one reason Mr Cheney and Mr Rumsfeld did not want the innocent detainees released was because “the detention efforts would be revealed as the incredibly confused operation that they were”. This was “not acceptable to the Administration and would have been severely detrimental to the leadership at DoD [Mr Rumsfeld at the Defence Department]”.

Referring to Mr Cheney, Colonel Wilkerson, who served 31 years in the US Army, asserted: “He had absolutely no concern that the vast majority of Guantánamo detainees were innocent ... If hundreds of innocent individuals had to suffer in order to detain a handful of hardcore terrorists, so be it.”

He alleged that for Mr Cheney and Mr Rumsfeld “innocent people languishing in Guantánamo for years was justified by the broader War on Terror and the small number of terrorists who were responsible for the September 11 attacks”.

He added: “I discussed the issue of the Guantánamo detainees with Secretary Powell. I learnt that it was his view that it was not just Vice-President Cheney and Secretary Rumsfeld, but also President Bush who was involved in all of the Guantánamo decision making.”

Mr Cheney and Mr Rumsfeld, Colonel Wilkerson said, deemed the incarceration of innocent men acceptable if some genuine militants were captured, leading to a better intelligence picture of Iraq at a time when the Bush Administration was desperate to find a link between Saddam Hussein and 9/11, “thus justifying the Administration’s plans for war with that country”.

He signed the declaration in support of Adel Hassan Hamad, a Sudanese man who was held at Guantánamo Bay from March 2003 until December 2007. Mr Hamad claims that he was tortured by US agents while in custody and yesterday filed a damages action against a list of American officials.

Defenders of Guantánamo said that detainees began to be released as early as September 2002, nine months after the first prisoners were sent to the jail at the US naval base in Cuba. By the time Mr Bush left office more than 530 detainees had been freed.

A spokesman for Mr Bush said of Colonel Wilkerson’s allegations: “We are not going to have any comment on that.” A former associate to Mr Rumsfeld said that Mr Wilkerson's assertions were completely untrue.

The associate said the former Defence Secretary had worked harder than anyone to get detainees released and worked assiduously to keep the prison population as small as possible. Mr Cheney’s office did not respond.

There are currently about 180 detainees left in the facility.

NaturalNews) Beginning on January 1, 2010, Russia has officially

banned imported poultry products from countries that use chlorine in
their processing methods. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin
announced that Russia will no longer allow chicken imports from the
U.S. because the chlorine baths used to sanitize chickens do not meet
Russian food safety standards.

Since it comes from Russia, many may dismiss the ban as being
politically charged with no scientific validity. However many nations
around the world, including all within the European Union, have banned
poultry imports from chlorine-using countries because of the dangers
posed by the chemical. These countries use different methods to
disinfect meat, including air chilling and electrolyzed water
treatments, which do not expose the meat to harmful chemicals.

Putin expressed that Russia is working to become poultry
self-sufficient by the year 2015 but, until then, will import only
from nations that do not use chlorine in meat processing. Each year,
the import quota will be dropped until, eventually, all chicken will
be domestically raised in Russia.

When the issue first surfaced back in 2008, the U.S. Poultry & Egg
Export Council tried to persuade Russia that the chlorine treatment
methods used on chicken are both safe and effective. According to the
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the hypochlorus chemical used,
which is an active form of chlorine, is an effective antimicrobial.

Rather than reconsider the safety of its own treatment methods, U.S.
regulators tried to use rhetoric to convince Russia to accept U.S.
imports and failed miserably. Russia refused to hear any of it, ending
$825 million worth of U.S. chicken imports into its country.

The truth about chlorine chicken baths is that not only are they not
truly effective but they expose people to a steady stream of toxic
chlorine every time they consume chicken. Chlorine is known to
increase cancer risk and cause other serious problems including
respiratory illness and heart disease. Like other environmental
halogens, chlorine contributes to thyroid dysfunction as well.

The levels of chlorine used in chicken baths, which average somewhere
between 20 and 50 parts per million (ppm), do not always kill all the
pathogens present. According to a European Consumers' Organization
study conducted in 2007, 83 percent of U.S. chicken that had been
treated in chlorine baths still contained harmful pathogens. The bath
essentially becomes a pathogen cesspool that contaminates all the
other chickens that are submerged in it.

It is no wonder that Russia, the E.U., and a growing list of nations
around the world are refusing chlorinated U.S. chicken.

Early reports circulating in the Kremlin today from the Foreign Military Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (GRU) are showing that Russian forces have successfully engineered government coups against the American “puppet states” of the United States, Kyrgyzstan and Thailand.

To the dangerously chaotic situation now existing in Kyrgyzstan we can read as reported by London’s Times Online News Service who are reporting:

“More than 100 people were feared dead tonight after police fought street battles with protesters attempting to storm the presidential palace in the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyzstan.

The opposition claimed that the Government had been driven from power and President Bakiyev had fled the capital. That assessment was contradicted, however, by the US State Department, which said that the Kyrgyz government was still in control.”
To the equally dangerous situation in Thailand we can further read as reported by the LA Times News Services:

“After weeks of demonstrations that saw glitzy shopping malls blocked, blood splattered on the prime minister’s residence and tourism dented, Thailand’s leader on Wednesday declared a state of emergency in Bangkok, handing the army broad power to restore order.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva made the move after anti-government protesters broke into the parliament building, leading some lawmakers to make a rooftop escape aboard a Black Hawk helicopter as other parliamentarians scaled compound walls.”

Fueling Russian anger against the Untied States were this past weeks series of terrorist attacks against the Motherland masterminded by CIA-linked al Qaeda terrorist forces that included the catastrophic bombing of Moscow’s subway system leading to the loss of over 40 innocent lives and which President Medvedev and Prime Minister Putin vowed to find and "destroy".

Also angering Russia has been US President Obama and NATO’s refusal to stem the devastating Afghan heroin drug trade run by the CIA and which to date Victor Ivanov, head of Russia’s federal drug control agency, has estimated has claimed over 30,000 Russian citizens lives.

[Note: Important to note about Afghanistan’s heroin drug trade was that by early 2001 the Taliban had totally eradicated its production thus depriving the CIA of tens-of-billions of dollars of drug income necessitating the 9/11 “charade” which then allowed the Americans to regain control and re-start this vital component of their vast illicit Global drug empire under the “protection” of US Military Forces.]

According to these reports, Russian Military Forces are attempting by these Great Game “shadow wars” in Kyrgyzstan and Thailand to deny the US and its NATO allies the use of critical airbases [Don Muang Royal Thai Air Force Base: Thailand and Ganci Air Base: Kyrgyzstan] needed for their, the Americans, attempt to seize control of the vast oil and gas deposits in Central Asia, and which both Russia and China have vowed not to allow them to accomplish.

Well, in this case we had an ally in this country and now that the government has been overthrown the tables have turned on us.   What does that mean for us and the region? The US set up Manas airbase in Kyrgyzstan and a base in neighboring Uzbekistan around seven years ago.

Kyrgyzstan's new leaders have said they intend to remove a US military base, which currently serves as the premier air mobility hub for the US-led forces in Afghanistan, from their soil.

The interim government led by ex-foreign minister Roza Otunbayeva, has said it wants the US base, Manas, closed down for security reasons.

The remarks came amid growing uncertainty over whether the new Kyrgyz authorities would allow the US to use the base.

Russia, which itself maintains an air base at Kant, just 20 miles from Manas, has been keen to block US military presence in the region.

Moscow has been increasingly concerned about US military's prolonged presence in the geo-strategically important Region.

This is while the opposition has taken power and dissolved the parliament. Otunbayeva has promised a new constitution and a presidential election at some point in the next six months. She says a care-taker government will serve as both presidency and parliament for now.

The ousted president Kurmanbek Bakiyev has refused oppositions demands to resign.

Meanwhile, protestors in the capital Bishkek have demolished and burned the house of the toppled president.

The opposition claims to be in full control of the capital, the armed forces and the media. Earlier, the interim government allowed police to use firearms and shoot looters across the Kyrgyz capital.

Wednesday's unrest that toppled the government claimed at least 75 lives with over 1000 others injured.

Engineering a new way to study hepatitis C - Part IV (b) Tavistock group

Vatic Note: Again we see MIT involved along with the Rockefeller University keeping in mind the many decades of close relationship between rockefeller and the Tavistock Group and their psychological work in Human relations. Is this the new AIDS pandemic? Suspicion is prevelant due to the Cheney's New American think tank's "Pax Americana" paper that began all that we see. In that paper was a section that stated "....using bioweapons, by genotype, for political reasons". That alone was cause for great concern and with no trust anymore in anything to do with international governance, its easy to made the connection of this to the robber barons stated purpose and funding programs to eugenics and depopulation. Keep that in mind. Controlling how we react to all of this is assigned to the tavistock group to deal with and they do through their affiliates here in the states like MIT and other think tanks and research facilities and government agencies such as the CIA. Title: Engineering a new way to study hepatitis C

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Researchers at MIT and Rockefeller University have successfully grown hepatitis C virus in otherwise healthy liver cells in the laboratory, an advance that could allow scientists to develop and test new treatments for the disease.

About 200 million people worldwide are infected with hepatitis C, which can lead to liver failure or cancer, and existing drugs are not always effective. To develop better treatments, researchers need to test them in laboratory experiments in liver cells, but it has been difficult to create a suitable tissue model because healthy liver cells tend to lose their liver functions when removed from the body.

Previously, researchers have been able to induce cancerous liver cells to survive and reproduce outside the body, but those cells are not sufficient for studying hepatitis C because their responses to infection are different from those of normal liver cells.

Now, Sangeeta Bhatia, professor in the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, in collaboration with Charles Rice of the Rockefeller University, has developed a way to maintain liver cells for four to six weeks by precisely arranging them on a specially patterned plate. The cells can be infected with hepatitis C for two to three weeks, giving researchers the chance to study the cells’ responses to different drugs.

The new model, described in next week’s issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, could allow researchers to test the effectiveness of various combinations of drugs, including interferon, a common current treatment, and experimental antibodies that may block the virus from entering cells.

How they did it: The researchers used healthy liver cells that had been cryogenically preserved and grew them on special plates with micropatterns that direct the cells where to grow. The liver cells were strategically interspersed with other cells called fibroblasts that support the growth of liver tissue.

“If you just put cells on a surface in an unorganized way, they lose their function very quickly,” says Bhatia. “If you specify which cells sit next to each other, you can extend the lifetime of the cells and help them maintain their function.”

Next steps: The current system may already be suitable to screen drugs against the strain of hepatitis C used in this work; however, this strain, which was derived from a Japanese patient with fulminant hepatitis, is the only strain ever successfully grown in a laboratory environment. The researchers hope to modify the system so they can grow additional strains, such as those more common in North America, which would allow for more thorough drug testing.

[Are the two people in this photograph the same person? A nose job, some cheek implants and a little eyelid work and maybe we have a before-and-after image. Maybe.

I am the first one to admit that there are a lot of far fetched theories and allegations floating around about what really happened on September 11th, 2001, none crazier however than the official explanation. But the latest information to come my way, courtesy of our guest Phil Jayhan of the LetsRoll Forums, has left me stumped and thirsting for answers, which some of you out there may be be able to provide.

I am asking for your help. If you can shed some light on the disturbing questions that we are going to raise during our broadcast we may be able to put some of our suspicions to rest, or - if not - we may just have found some solid proof that the events of 9/11 involved more people than any of us could have imagined.

Out of respect for the victims of 9/11, some topics have been completely taboo, even among 9/11 researchers. Well, I have to tell you that I have seen too much disturbing information about the people on the flight lists for me to ignore this topic. And that information is the focus of this week's radio broadcast.

These days with the sophistication involved in disinfo and propoganda, its now difficult to say which it is, however, time and continued observation usually exposes truth in the end. WMR has learned from Asian intelligence sources that there is a strong belief in some Asian countries, particularly China and Thailand, that the website Wikileaks, which purports to publish classified and sensitive documents while guaranteeing anonymity to the providers, is linked to U.S. cyber-warfare and computer espionage operations, as well as to Mossad's own cyber-warfare activities.

Wikileaks claims to have decrypted video footage of a U.S. Predator air strike on civilians in Afghanistan and that covert U.S. State Department agents followed Wikileaks's editor from Iceland to Norway in a surveillance operation conducted jointly by the United States and Iceland. Iceland's financially-strapped government recently announced a policy of becoming a haven for websites that fear political oppression and censorship in their home countries. However, in the case of Wikileaks, countries like China and Thailand are suspicious of the websites' actual "ownership."

Wikileaks says it intends to show its video at an April 5 press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, DC but that its presenters may be detained or arrested before that time. WMR's sources believe the Wikileaks "militancy" in the face of supposed surveillance appears fake.

Our Asian intelligence sources report the following: "Wikileaks is running a disinformation campaign, crying persecution by U.S. intelligence- when it is U.S. intelligence itself. Its [Wikileaks'] activities in Iceland are totally suspect." Wikileaks claims it is the victim of a new COINTELPRO [Counter Intelligence Program] operation directed by the Pentagon and various U.S. intelligence agencies. Today, in New York City, the US is torturing a Muslim detainee with no prior criminal record who has not even gone to trial.

For the last almost three years, Syed Fahad Hashmi has been kept in total pretrial isolation inside in a small cell under 24-hour video and audio surveillance. He is forced to use the bathroom and shower in full view of the video. He has not seen the sun in years. He takes his meals alone in his cell. He cannot see any other detainees and he is not allowed to communicate in any way with any prisoners. He cannot write letters to friends and he cannot make calls to anyone but his lawyer. He is prohibited from participating in group prayer. He gets newspapers that are 30 days old with sections cut out by the government. One hour a day, he is taken into another confined room where he is also kept in total isolation.

Children are taught that the US Constitution protects people accused of crimes. No one is to be punished unless their guilt or innocence has been decided in a fair trial. Until trial, people are entitled to the presumption of innocence. They are entitled to be defended by an attorney of their choice. And the Eighth Amendment to the US Constitution prohibits cruel and unusual punishment.

The punishment of Hashmi has been going on for years while he has been waiting for trial. In addition to the punitive isolation he is subjected to today, he was denied the attorney of his choice. He was allowed only counsel investigated and preapproved by the government. He is not allowed to look at any translated documents unless the translator is preapproved by the government. He is not allowed any contact with the media at all. One member of his family can visit through the heavy screen for one hour every other week unless the government takes away those visits to further punish him. The government took away his family visits for 90 days when he was observed shadow boxing in his cell and talked back to the guard who asked what he was doing.

This is a very important low-down on what is brewing behind the vaccination scene and may surface next as a general populace protocol. Do not take this lightly PLEASE!!!

I Just linked two dots that could spell disaster for the globe during the next phase of vaccination. It would be an adjuvant or addition, the CATALYST POTENTIATOR, for those who accepted the first round, or multiples and other various vaccines of live H1N1 shots in 2009. These are laboratory grown genetically engineered strains of Hepatitis C targeted to North Americans as well as worldwide.

They used the same propaganda and tactics during the resurrection of the the 1918 swine flu virus "to study and develop treatments" as claimed in the article "Engineering a new way to study Hepatitis C". (Notice in the link its MIT again?) Their intention is vastly different than what mainstream presents (spins). We saw what Baxter Chemical did last year claiming accidental inclusion of the live Avian flu strain with the regular flu shots that almost made it undetected to 18, or more, countries outside the States.

The intention is too wipe out our immune efficacy. An attack on the liver spells double trouble because, from what I have learned as one theory, that what ends the life of those infected with the swine flu is the condition of dysentery, i.e. mutated strain of C. difficile. A person becomes so dehydrated as a result of diarrhea resulting in death.

I "reversed engineered" (a practice that is getting better and easier as events unfold) the important connection where it reads, "...engineering a new way to study hepatitis C..." Towards the end of the article where they document the discovery of a rare, actually the only, robust hepatitis C culture from a Japanese patient. This particular virus survives the experimentation process which has finally facilitated their ability to genetically modify Hep C for "study and research."

This scenario has similarities to the a not so well known cancer industry story that centers around extremely rare cancer cells taken from one person, Henrietta Lacks, in 1952. These cells were essentially stolen from the deceased woman in order to build a cancer industry stronger than had been to that point. Billions of revenue dollars were generated for research and development. Her cells were sold on the market to research and development entities for the purpose to create more problems that would, of course, require "their" treatments.

Side note: Laetrile was introduced in the same year, 1952, which also marks the accelerated activity of federal suppression of natural cancer treatments. The Lack family never received a single cent. Here's the clincher, "they" want to create regional strains of hepatitis C based on race for use on North American inhabitants. This dovetails into the eugenics agenda/mass genocide ongoing depopulation program.

This is appropriate preparation for all of us before the next round of vaccination formulations -- the Hep C may be hidden in other ingredients, if forced or under coercion (potential Martial Law), and else ways. I trust my research and and I sense that this article, propagandized and seemingly benign as it is, has far reaching implications. This is a very big one. No joke. (NaturalNews) Becoming an organ donor is a great way to help out a person in the event of one's death. A study has shown, however, that sometimes donor recipients take on certain characteristics or personality traits from the donor, a phenomenon that researchers are having a difficult time explaining.

Paul Pearsall, a neuropsychologist, wrote about this interesting topic in his book, The Heart's Code: Tapping the Wisdom and Power of Our Heart Energy. In it, he provides insight into his belief that the physical heart contains within it memories belonging to its person. Part of Pearsall's research for the book included tracking several real life cases of heart transplant recipients who mysteriously inherited some of their donors' traits.

In one case, a Spanish-speaking man began using words that he had not used prior to his transplant. He received his heart from a man named David who had died in a car accident. David's wife, Glenda, when meeting the recipient of her husband's heart for the first time, used the word "copacetic" to describe the situation. The recipient's mother quickly replied that her son had begun using that word for the first time and that it did not even have a Spanish equivalent, indicating that he had adopted the word from David.

The recipient's son, who had before been a vegetarian, began craving meat and greasy food after his transplant. His music preferences also changed from favoring heavy metal to preferring fifties rock 'n' roll. All of these preferences turned out to be David's preferences as well.

In another case, an 8-year-old girl who had received a heart transplant from a 10-year-old girl that had been murdered, began to have nightmares about the donor's murderer. After several consultations with a psychiatrist, it was decided that the police should be notified. The 8-year-old recipient was able to identify key clues about the murder, including who the murderer was, when and how it happened, and even the words spoken by the murderer to the victim. Amazingly, the entire testimony turned out to be true and the murderer was convicted for his crime.

Pearsall's 73 different case studies point to the fact that both the brain and the heart hold important information about a person. According to his analysis, cell communication that occurs throughout the body on a continual basis can continue to occur after an organ has been removed from one person and transplanted into another. Information from the donor seems to install into the recipient's memory.

Critics argue that such a phenomenon is not possible, but the proof is in the cases themselves. In one case, a 3-year-old Arab girl received a heart transplant from an 8-year-old Jewish boy who died in a car accident. After her surgery, the girl asked for a type of Jewish candy that, prior to the surgery, she did not even know existed.

A device that emits an invisible beam affecting a person's ability to tell right from wrong might sound like the kind of weapon a comic book villain would use to wreak havoc around the world.

Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology say such a device allowed them to observe the effects magnetic rays have on a person's sense of morality.

In a new study, volunteers were subjected to magnetic pulses just above and behind of the right ear, focusing on the area of the brain believed to be the area controlling morality. The pulses were intended to block cell activity that contributed to the volunteers' sense of right and wrong.

MIT's researchers explain the study in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

"You think of morality as being a really high-level behavior," Dr. Liane Young, the study's lead researcher, told the British Broadcasting Corporation. "To be able to apply a magnetic field to a specific brain region and change people's moral judgments is really astonishing."

To see what effect a 500 millisecond magnetic pulse had, researchers gave the 20 volunteers a series of tests. In one test, the volunteers were given an ethical dilemma: should a man let his girlfriend walk across a bridge he knew wasn't safe?

The volunteers based their answers on how the scenario played out. If the girlfriend crossed with bridge safely, the man wasn't at fault. The volunteers based their decision on the outcome of the dilemma, not the moral principle, because of the magnetic pulse, the researchers wrote.

In another test, volunteers were exposed to 25 minutes of weak electric currents that prevent brain cells from functioning normally. They then had to read stories about morally questionable characters and judge whether the characters' actions caused harm. Researchers found that the volunteers accepted morally dubious actions that resulted in a "happy" ending.

Almost a year after Representative Cynthia McKinney was told by Donald Rumsfeld that it was not the policy of the Bush administration to reward companies that engage in human trafficking with government contracts, the scandal continues to sweep up innocent children who are sold into a life of slavery at the behest of Halliburton subsidiaries , Dyncorp and other transnational corporations with close ties to the establishment elite.

On March 11th 2005, McKinney grilled Secretary Rumsfeld and General Myers on the Dyncorp scandal.

"Mr. Secretary, I watched President Bush deliver a moving speech at the United Nations in September 2003, in which he mentioned the crisis of the sex trade. The President called for the punishment of those involved in this horrible business. But at the very moment of that speech, DynCorp was exposed for having been involved in the buying and selling of young women and children. While all of this was going on, DynCorp kept the Pentagon contract to administer the smallpox and anthrax vaccines, and is now working on a plague vaccine through the Joint Vaccine Acquisition Program. Mr. Secretary, is it [the] policy of the U.S. Government to reward companies that traffic in women and little girls?"

The response and McKinney's comeback was as follows.

Rumsfeld: "Thank you, Representative. First, the answer to your first question is, is, no, absolutely not, the policy of the United States Government is clear, unambiguous, and opposed to the activities that you described. The second question."

A researcher who authored one of the first articles connecting aspirin to Reye's Syndrome, a lethal disease that attacks the liver and brain, is suggesting that aspirin also could be to blame for a significant portion of deaths in the 1918-1919 influenza pandemic.

In an article in Clinical Infectious Diseases, California internist Dr. Karen M. Starko talks about the high doses of aspirin that were used to treat fever and the aches and pains of the early 20th century flu.

The symptoms of aspirin overdoses, she says, may have been difficult to distinguish from those of the flu, especially among those who died shortly after they became ill.

This information is particularly relevant today, not only because CDC officials are pushing for people to get the H1N1 shot before they go on spring break, but also because they have now decided that H1N1 will be part of the seasonal flu shot scheduled for the 2010-11 flu season.

They also have expanded the flu shot schedule to include the elderly and infants 6 months of age and older.

Resulting contamination of non-GE and organic alfalfa hay and seed would devastate livelihoods and organic industry

The National Organic Coalition (NOC) today announced that more than 200,000 people submitted comments to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) critiquing the substance and conclusions of its Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) on Genetically Engineered (GE) Alfalfa. Groups, including NOC, Center for Food Safety (CFS), Organic Consumers Association, Food & Water Watch, CREDO Action and Food Democracy Now, mobilized their communities to help generate the unprecedented number of comments.

In addition, more than 300 public interest organizations, farmers, dairies, retailers and organic food producers from the U.S. and Canada delivered a strongly worded letter to USDA, calling upon it to deny approval of Monsanto’s genetically engineered, Roundup Ready alfalfa (GE alfalfa). The letter cites the inevitable contamination of organic and non-GE alfalfa hay and seeds and threats to the viability of organic dairies, livestock, and meat and dairy producers as reasons for urging the denial. NOC, Organic Valley, Whole Foods, National Cooperative Grocers Association, CFS and others agree that it would be irresponsible government policy to approve GE alfalfa in the absence of legal requirements holding companies accountable for GE contamination, as is currently the case.

In 2006, CFS sued USDA for its illegal approval of Monsanto’s GE alfalfa. USDA failed to conduct an environmental impact statement (EIS), as required by law, before deregulating the crop. The federal courts sided with CFS and banned GE alfalfa plantings until USDA analyzed the impacts of GE alfalfa on the environment, farmers and the public. Today marks the deadline for submitting public comments on the draft EIS, which recommends approving Monsanto’s GE alfalfa.

The West Virginia coal mine where an explosion killed 25 workers and left another four unaccounted for in the worst mining disaster since 1984 had amassed scores of citations from mining safety officials, including 57 infractions just last month for violations that included repeatedly failing to develop and follow a ventilation plan.

The federal records catalog the problems at the Upper Big Branch mine, operated by the Performance Coal Company. They show the company was fighting many of the steepest fines, or simply refusing to pay them. Performance is a subsidiary of Massey Energy. Another Massey subsidiary agreed to pay $4.2 million in criminal and civil fines last year and admitted to willfully violating mandatory safety standards that led to the deaths of two miners. The fine was the largest penalty in the history of the coal industry.

The nation's sixth biggest mining company by production, Massey Energy took in $24 million in net income in the fourth quarter of 2009. The company paid what was then the largest financial settlement in the history of the coal industry for the 2006 fire at the Aracoma mine, also in West Virginia. The fire trapped 12 miners. Two suffocated as they looked for a way to escape. Aracoma later admitted in a plea agreement that two permanent ventilation controls had been removed in 2005 and not replaced, according to published reports.

The two widows of the miners killed in Aracoma were unsatisfied by the plea agreement, telling the judge they believed the company cared more about profits then safety. After the deal, the Massey subsidiary pledged a renewed focus on safety after the fines were levied.
